Well for 6 minutes of film that was a LONG night!

Firstly, the prologue is AMAZING and the film looks like it actually has the potential to be better than TDK if that's even possible!  Secondly, security was totally excessive. I'm not complaining and the footage was well worth the extra wait and jumping through a few hoops, but it all seemed a bit crazy when you think M:I4 goes on general release tomorrow anyway and there's no way that they could do this at every screening of the preview.

Firstly they delayed the screening from 8 till 8:30 (probably due to the extra security measures).  They then collected in every electronic device (even my friend's ipod which does have a screen or the ability to record) and bagged them with raffle tickets that you could use to reclaim them after the screening.  Then as we went into the screening we were all searching with metal detector wands (anyone who was found not to have handed in a phone at this point would be refused entry) and once everyone was seated we were warned that staff were watching with night vision cameras and anyone seen trying to record the footage would be removed.  After the screening they let us out a row at a time so we could reclaim our stuff.

But like I said, it was all well worth it.  The prologue was incredible and the brief previews after it leave you wanting so much more.  Plus they gave out free t-shirts!  Mine has Bane's mask logo on it and "END" and I also saw others with a very rough Bat logo on and "LEGEND".

Now if you really can't wait to see it...

[spoilers]The prologue opens where TDK left off, with Gordon speaking at Harvey Dent's memorial.  He says that Dent was his friend and it will be a long time before anyone can inspire the city the way he did, "I believed in Harvey Dent."  We go forward 8 years (or at least I'm assuming we do based on Nolan saying the film is set 8 years later), some militia are transporting a doctor (the same one mentioned in the viral campaign) and have 3 men cuffed and bagged.

They arrive at a plane in the middle of no where and hand the doctor over to a federal agent (can't remember if it was CIA or FBI or something else) and tell him to take the prisoners as well.  When he asks why they tell him they were trying to take the doctor and they work for the masked man to which the fed replies "Bane?" and then agrees to take them on board.

In the air he tells the prisoners he's only logged 1 of them as being on the plane, so the first to talk and tell him about Bane gets to live.  The first refuses and gets thrown from the plane.  He says they have a lot of loyalty for hired guns. One of them speaks.  "Well at least you can talk".

He gets down in front of him and removes the mask.  It's Bane.  The fed asks if it would kill him if he removed the mask
"It would be very painful"
"You're a big man"
"For you."

Outside the plane, a bigger cargo plane comes into position above the small plane being used by the feds.

Inside Bane is saying it doesn't matter who he is, all that matters is his plan (which getting caught was part of) which is to crash the plane with no surviviors.

Bane's men rapel down from the plane above, shot through the windows and come in through the open door.  Bane breaks his handcuffs and attacks the agent in front of him.  His men have attached the fed plane to the cargo plane.  As the fight happens inside the plane, we see shots outside of the plane flip as it begins to get dragged by the cargo plane.  Inside everyone falls towards the nose except Bane and his men who were expecting it.  They grab the doctor and replace him with a shot corpse brought in by the team from the cargo plane.  They do a quick blood transfusion between the doctor and the corpse.  The tail if blown off the plane, Bane then grabs the doctor and gets in a harness attached to the cargo plane.

The other man who came on in cuffs with Bane moves to go with him, but Bane stops him, saying they'll be expecting one of them in the wreckage.  His man nods in understanding and asks "Did we light a fire" to which Bane replies "Yes.  The Fire Rises" before being pulled out of the plane which then falls to the ground.

We're then treated to series of VERY brief shots from the rest of the film.

Awesome!  Can't wait for the new trailer tomorrow or M:I4 so I can see the prologue again (Boxing Day for the UK)
