Although I was just thinking it would be hilarious if it tied into some Clone Wars game. Boba would have an EPIC conniption fit.

I'd bet TFU2 as well, seems most likely although that does assume the game releases this year (which isn't a guarantee).

Yes, he's doing SW: TOR: Fatal Alliance, but it should come out already in July 27th.

So he seems to be. This is from his blog, 8th of December 2009, under the title my next book (probably):

The official announcement came and went without me noticing (whoops) so I am unintentionally tardy in confirming that I am indeed writing Star Wars: The Old Republic: Fatal Alliance, the first novel tie-in to the LucasArts/Bioware MMORG due next year Both game and the book are set "more than 3,500 years in the past of the far-away galaxy...when the Jedi and the Galactic Republic clashed with the Sith Empire." Sound like fun? It was. The book is epic, hardback, and due in July 2010.

I say "probably" in the subject line, btw, because the first two titles in The Fixers series (Castle of Zombies and Planet of Cyborgs) are due the same month. It's anyone's guess at this stage which one will actually come out first.

is not in the original, by the way - it's Yuku's magic of which I don't seem to be able to make vanish.

I'm curious if TOR is considered Video Game Tie-Ins to the point that a 9-book (oh sorry, did I assume again?) series would all be slowly announced that way.

I agree that it is indeed TFU2, but I am with Boba on this one:

Don't get me wrong, as a slave to the franchise (and an anal completist) I will buy this book because at present I only draw the line with the new Clone Wars canon-stomping crap, but.... I can't feel enthused about it.

The Force Unleashed (and presumably the sequel) works extraordinarily well as a game where you can thrash the piss out of things with the Force and go for gold.

As a novel, it... does not hold up well. I presume the sequel will fare the same, and I also remain dubiously eyebrow raised from the little info we have on TFU2 which heavily suggests that the Secret Apprentice is somehow still alive/is resurrected. Which makes me just headdesk.

It will be epically awesome

The game will star Jar Jar and focus on deadly races across the galaxy!! You will hear famous lines from Jar Jar like "Wesa in trouble now!!" and when you pass Anakin in any race Jar Jar will shout "Ani? Ani? Is that yousa?"

Ironically, it'd be one of the few announced titles that I wouldn't bitch about. Because after Pod Racer, I know that LucasArts can give us a good racing game.

The product page on Amazon.ca has this down for 480 pages.

I don't know how accurate that might be this far out, but it's interesting.

If this is indeed based on TFU2, I wonder if that would indicate a longer game, a more intricate story, or just more leeway given to Williams to write the story?
