Posts: 16 09/28/09 8:00 AM	Centerpoints connection with Abeloth This is my first attempt at starting a subject, I had to, because, simply, I didn't know where else to address the questions I have. From what I gather so far. The Jedi and force sensitive people( all young ones mind you) who lived in the Maw have been going crazy since the destruction of Centerpoint. Somehow, Centetpoint was a containment field of some sort to... contain Abeloth's reach of power. My question is; How are they ( anyone) going to help the Jedi crazies without building another Ceterpoint, which-OH-By-The-Way they can't, because know one in this lifetime can figure out what Centerpoint was let alone how to build. To me, this (Centerpoint) is…for lack of a better term.. the centerpoint of the series. Or at least the key to controlling Abeloth's reach on our Jedi.

Posts: 3129 09/28/09 8:33 AM	They don't Know in the GFFA so honestly no one else could tell you what the connection is. I suspect the authors all got together and decided Centerpointe was too good of a plot device to let dwindle to a singularity without beating it's memory for a few more chapters. That said, I think another reason why the never quite figured out what it was in the GFFA was because it was never vital that they understand it's origins. It was important yes, but never vital to the existence of the a group such as the Jedi. Now that it is vital, absolutely vital to the survival of the Jedi order, I think there will suddenly be a "break in the case" as it were. .

As for Centerpoint: we're all now assuming Centerpoint was a containment field and it certainly looks that way, but the fact is, we don't know exactly why the Celestials constructed it or what its real, true purpose was. We know what the galaxy has learned that Centerpoint was capable of. That doesn't mean that was the purpose of Centerpoint. We don't even know that the Celestials did in fact imprison Abeloth in the Maw. Seems like it all points that way, but I wouldn't be surprised if a real twist was thrown in here. Abyss has given us some clues, but they're vague. So vague that Ben is only willing to commit that the "destruction of Centerpoint Station had changed something fundamental in the Maw". While the children of the Maw all started going paranoid after Centerpoint's destruction, it took 2-3 yrs for the Jedi children to start exhibiting that paranoia. It also took the mindwalkers a couple of years to actually start experiencing mindwalking. It didn't happen overnight. It took awhile for them to find Sinkhole, and when they did, they communed with the "mysterious Force presence", but they weren't mindwalking yet. What does all that mean? Why did it take two years for events to unfold. I have no clue. It's a mystery.

Good point but, I would lean toward the timing is all part of her plan. The timimg is all to perfect not to be. The Jedi are on their heels, the Moff are about to have a internal kue (I so, don't know how to spell that, but you know what I mean) Deela is setting up her little dictatorship, There is a colony of a new breed of Sith, Luke Skywalker and his son are out of the picture at the moment, the Sword of the Jedi is love wipped, and lets not forget there is One Sith out there somewhere. Timing is everything.

Posts: 251 09/28/09 9:53 AM	^coup I think Centerpoint and Sinkhole had a role that acted as a containment field for Abeloth, they certainly had other roles and functions, but I'll definitely go along with containment being one of them. Abeloth seems too powerful and greedy to be so quiet all this time. If they didn't act as some sort of prison for her, the only other valid explanation I can think of is that it woke her up. Maybe she has some sort of mental connection to them and by destroying Centerpoint it woke her from some eternal slumber. "I used to smoke after Spongbob all the time. I found whenever Spongebob ended I would smoke a butt and then take a nap...then I started jogging and man was I able to watch Spongebob for hours at a time.... I mean I could kill a whole weekend watching Spongebob.... I'd watch in the bathtub....on the kitchen table.... hell once the wife and I started watching Spongebob in the garage ...... good times man... I love Spongebob...." -Rev

Posts: 5966 09/28/09 10:37 AM	If she was slumbering until Centerpoint's destruction, who touched the children living in the Maw all those years before Centerpoint was destroyed, not to mention beings that go back at least prior to Order 66? I'm not seeing Abeloth as having the ability to affect much outside of the Maw other than the children she touched who lived there. If she could, Kam and Tionne would have certainly been aware of her. And I don't think she has the power for some massive plot involving Daala. One thing that keeps being repeated is this lonely longing emanating from the Maw. I'm sure it's Abeloth's longing to pull Force sensitives to her and I think she's the minddrinker here. She needs Force sensitives to feed her. IMO, your plot theory is too convoluted. Abeloth wouldn't use Daala. She'd use the Force sensitives she's got in thrall to her. Although I suppose the authors could retcon Daala into someone who was a wonderful person until she was possessed by the evil Abeloth. Um, yeah.

Now that she has Ship, she can go anywhere including Dathomir. She mind as well just have just walked into the largest banquet ever. "I m having another vision" An octopus with a napkin around the neck and fork and knives in tentacle. Yes, I know "feeding " was just a figure of speech. Your thinking that she is feeding on their force ora. Right? That's why she is not killing those people at sinkhole she needs them to stay alive so she can suck as much of the force as she can out of them. So, she just kept them in a delusional state. Right?? or am I going way off base?

Well, I don't think she can leave the Maw. I haven't reread this part yet in Abyss -- I'm just getting to it, but I don't think Abeloth went with the Sith on Ship. They went to Sinkhole and Abeloth wasn't anywhere around when the Sith were battling the Skywalkers. And she really did not want them leaving her Volcano planet. It wasn't until Lady Rhea put her foot down about leaving and called Abeloth's bluff, that Abeloth tried to kill Lady Rhea in the river. That's when Vestara saw Abeloth in her true form. And what is with that whole volcano planet? It seems like an actual, physical place separate from Sinkhole, but Luke saw it in the distance when he was mindwalking and at the Fountain of Power. did he mindwalk to it? I suppose that's the simplest answer. One thing I know: we got a lot more questions than answers from Abyss. And the mystery continues to deepen.

And I don't think Abeloth not being able to leave the Maw throws the Centerpoint theory out the window. Things are not happening overnight in regards to Centerpoint's destruction. Besides, Sinkhole is counting down to something, and it seems as if Sinkhole is pretty pertinent to Abeloth's containment. We just don't know enough about either Centerpoint or Sinkhole to say anything really definitive about either of them.

Option 2: They smack Abeloth down so hard and make her tell them how to cure the psychosis, or get her to fix it herself. Option 3: The Celestials are involved in a cure. Option 4: Cilghal awesomes up a cure. Option 5: Luke and Ben find out some type of remedy on their travels. Option 6: They stay crazy.

Ben saw it flying around (as a distraction perhaps?) and started firing on it out of pure instinct. Why didn't Abeloth "eat" the Sith stranded on her planet? She seemed more content to play around with and manipulate them than anything else. They were no more than playthings to her, little insects trapped in her web. They were amusement, nothing more.

Ben saw it flying around (as a distraction perhaps?) and started firing on it out of pure instinct. That's not quite how it happened. Ben sensed Ship looking for him and Luke, Luke knew Ship was working with the Sith and that Ship would block the Jade Shadow from leaving. He sent Ben to prep the Shadow and persuade Ship to move by firing on it. IMO Abeloth definitely used the Sith to go after the Skywalkers. At this point in time, the Skywalkers are definitely her biggest threat.

Maybe when she steps off of it, she becomes vulnerable, thus she was reluctant to leave it. Going off that point, one could even venture that Abeloth was like a Celestial superweapon, and that they used places like Sinkhole and Centerpoint to move her planet around so she could attack their enemies. Posts: 10830 09/29/09 8:06 PM	I still think the Celestials were actually Abeloth's enemy, though your theory that she is actually their superweapon is a very intriguing one indeed, and one I never even thought of as being possible. I also think that we will see the Celestials (living ones) by the time this series is over. I hope so. And I hope it won't be anti-climactic. I think Abeloth is going to break some skulls trying to get at the Skywalkers. She's definitely an intriguing creature that has many more questions surrounding her.
