I spend a good deal of time linking friends via email and Google Talk to Star Wars webcomic arcs I find. Believe it or not, Star Wars is a big topic among the
nerd community.

That is pretty cool. A newspaper comic strip style comic for SW. Cool.

Rev, I'm curious as to what you would think of PVP- I sort of see Cole (personality, not physically) like a gamer version of you.

To answer the question would require a little clarification. Which one is Cole? Define "gamer". Gamer as in "enjoys video games" or gamer
as in "up for anything"?

Cole is the bald guy, who is the boss. And gamer as in "plays video games enough to base their lifestyle around it".

Hmm... well I'm not really a video gamer. Every five years or so a particular game catches my fancy and I wind up living it for like a month. I usually
beat any game I take up within three days but I do them the first time doing the bare bones minimum it takes to get through the game. Then I go back and play
again a few times and try to get all the little neat stuff along the way.
I once played Space Invaders on an Atari 2600 for like sixteen hours when I was probably 13 or so. My father finally made me shut it off when he saw how bad I had to pee. I was really dancing on the floor and that game had no "pause" function. You played until it was over. Then I got into Sonic The Hedgehog when Sega came out. I played a couple of the sequels too but thought it got ridiculous when all of a sudden you were planting gardens of little creatures and they started making love stories between the characters. My favorite of all time where the Jak and Daxter games. Daxter was a wiseass. I loved the weapons and stuff they had too. He had one gun called "The Peacemaker" that could level a school. That was cool. I beat Grand Theft Auto III in six hours and wondered what all the hype was. Never played any of the sequels. Now BobaK and some of his friends are talking about a game called Fallout 3 on Facebook which I asked around about and people say it's cool. I might try it. Other than those, gaming isn't a part of my daily life though. In fact I almost cringe when I hear about how much money and time some people spend with them but then I have hobbies and pursuits other people would see as pointless so I try not to judge. I am into computers and operating systems in a big way. I love some of the Linux operating systems out there now and firmly believe Linux will supplant both Windows and MacIntosh as the operating system of the future. It pays to get in on the ground floor and build a knowledge base. Other than that, if that is what this guy Cole is like then I am like that too. If not, then not so much. Long answer I know but you caught me killing time until dinner is ready .

Like I said, except for the gamer parts. His outlook on life, etc. Part of that is because he falls into the stereotypical parental mold, while at the same
time being a cool guy.

YAY! I'm a cool guy! I wouldn't be if you were my kid and you didn't bother spilling out the freakin' chocolate milk from the cup before you
turned it upside down into my dishwasher like my kid did today. You wouldn't think I was cool. You'd think I was a d&(k and you'd be right.
I hear what you're saying and I appreciate it.
You know, everyone my age still loves the old comic book heroes and science fiction and such. They all do. The cops and bank managers. All of them do. They just don't think it "fits their image" or whatever. To me, if it's cool, I'm into it. Iurus, you posted those Cthulu creatures in Lando's last week. I never knew they existed. The more I looked into it the cooler it looked. Two bookstores and both of them were out of the cthulu stories which tells me they are uber-cool because they sold out. The upside of being me is easy access to credit my friend. I am hoping Amazon gets me my Cthulu by the end of the week. |
