Posts: 2809 08/07/09 8:59 PM	Tags : None Here it is! The long anticipated interview of our erstwhile site manager DARK JEDI. What can you say about as hip and funny a guy as DJ? Besides all the content he pours on the pages of NJOE for our entertainment, he also manages to keep the whole thing held together behind the scenes as well. For every web site the rest of us flit to and from on a whim there is someone who has to stay anchored to each one of those sites to keep it running smoothly. That is our DJ. Our anchor. These are the things you the forumers wanted to know. I usually don't make this about the process. It's about the interviewee. This was a new kind of approach for me. I may be fixing/replacing slides over the next few days as they piss me off or the errors become glaring. I'm sure any mistakes will be pointed out with great enthusiasm. . I really do want my own pet zombie that I can lock up and play a little PS2 with. I have a couple of fixes to make but my eyes are still bleeding from all the editing I put into it the last few days. I'm taking tonight off. Anyone else who need a larger view, most browsers have a "view" button along the top tool bar you can use to enlarge the picture. The picture was so big it distorted the browser Myri. Holy shitters, I feel the need to print this off and read it in hard copy, but I won't because I'm lazy. I also feel ashamed that in comparison to my interview, DJ totally pwzzned me with more witty and longer answers. I definitely learned some things about DJ I didn't know before, and I haven't even finished this yet! NJOE, Question 4: OMG, who are you and what is your name? Who asks that? WHO? OMG I totally forgot, but you're right: Garm Bel Iblis does have kriffing awesome hair. It's so awesome it rivals Zekk's hair for the awesome. And hey, you do bring the lulz. More laterz.

The reasons for that: if you can't copy and paste text, you can't quote, and you know how we at NJOE love to quote. If you could make the images a background somehow, that would be perfect. Just my two cents: it was a successful experiment, but I wouldn't repeat it. Secondly... any chance we could get that page of personal answers with long paragraphs that got cut off? DJ: I believe the last complete Arms and Equipment Guide was produced for the OCR of the WotC SWRPG, which means it was released in the timespan between The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones. Though there might have been a more recent one in the past 3 or 4 years that I'm forgetting about. I guess it depends on how old your parents were when they came here, DJ, but I would consider you "second generation" as the first generation are the ones that actually immigrated here. A second-generation immigrant story would probably be something about how your parental and peer cultures conflict. And I don't want to steal DJ's thunder, but I don't want to forget... You pointed it out with all the diplomacy and subtly of a seagull fighting for a french fry in a McDonald's parking lot but the point is valid so I shall try to solve it. I did try to do the images as watermarks in a Word document and then overlay the text but it just wasn't quite clear enough. Perhaps I jumped the gun and put it up too soon. if I can find a way around the problem I will fix it. Otherwise I will just post a text only version. I thought the panels would be nice though. I fixed slide 12 but now it is wider than the others. I guess I just live with it. I don't know, it is SO not my style to let these things go. Still working on it. So where you at DJ?! Your fans demand to know! .

Sorry, I was trying to be as obvious that I wasn't bashing your effort as possible, while still being honest. It looks great, but there are just one or two issues that I wouldn't know how to fix (and therefore make it worth the extra effort) were I in your shoes. Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Yeah, I know... but the frech fry thing popped in my head and it was funny and my impulse control being what it is I ran with it. Glad you liked it DJ. It's still a work in progress. I have family in from out of town too and we all went to a ballgame today and the whole time I was thinking about how to overlay the text so it's quotable. The technology exist. I'll figure it out. The answers to some of the questions were the best yet. I have to admit, Jaina has a magnetism that is so high energy and attention grabbing but your answers had so much depth. They really made you think. While most of the slides were all SW based I did use the Taj Mahal on one or two as a nod to your heritage. .

In addition to all the finals, I was dealing with a couple personal issues which inconveniently reared their head right when I had a full plate. It was really nice to laugh and just be totally random and hilarious with people. One day I shall teach you. Canada is one of the other places I want to visit. So I'll be seeing you sometime during the next few years for sure, and we can enjoy our smores over a nice cup of tea and bat the breeze. Honey was basic peasant food. Butter and honey on soft rye bread is still a comfort food for me. DJ, I'm still running between the raindrops. So many things I want to comment on. I loved the family anecdote stories, though. Thanks for sharing them. What is it with four-year-olds and songs? My mom still embarrasses me with stories of how I used to want to perform Cat Steven's Moonshadow for guests. Problem was there was only one word I wanted to repeat over and over. Moonshadow. In incrementally increasing octaves and volume. When my mom tells the story she mimics me, including how I used to prance around the room. I have to admit that my favorite part of the interview was when DJ kicked his cousin in the stomoach for annoying him. Not that I enjoyed the idea of the violence.
