Whatever happened to the Live Action TV series? I'd much rather they work on that first. But otherwise...I doubt it would be anything really EU if Lucas is
involved...though I'd love to see a NJO series. Maybe the Dark Times Era. Or the Sith Era.

He mentioned in the interview that they're still working on the live-action show, though it seems to be going slowly.

Lucas mentions the live-action series in that video. Evidently they are still going forward with it, I just think Lucas got slowed down by his involvement with
the Clone Wars series.

It's a little over 2 minutes, get your butt over to Youtube.
But no, I don't believe he did. He said they didn't even know where they were filming it yet, so it's still in the very early stages of development.

I bet it's Dark Times related. GL Will NEVER do the Live-Action series, and if he does, it's going to be the new Holiday Special.

I don't think that Lucas would go beyond RotJ, an OT series is at most a very distant possibility, Dark Times belong to the Live TV series, Lucas is
unlikely also to go beyond TPM (meaning pre- 32 BBY) so either a new Clone Wars series - perhaps a spin-off concentrating on Ahsoka in the months before RoTJ -
or a pre- AoC (canon breaking) series about Obi-wan and Anakin Skywalker?

Them making another series centered around that time would be repetitive, to say the least. That would suck.

Repetitive, yes, but a new animated series wouldn't have probably been made without CW series being apparently succesful, so more of the same as long as
sales continue well.
It could be worse: George Lucas Presents Star Wars: The Return of the Ewoks: How Jar-Jar Binks Found a New Home on Endor.

Taking into account that Lucas spent his time talking about sequels and how the TV series open the doors to that kind of work I am going to guess that the new
cartoon will be placed during the Dark Times. Now knowing how Lucas likes his prequels I'm going to also guess that this will work almost as a prequel to
The Force Unleashed. Maybe even starring some of the games characters; like Rahm Kota, Kento Marek, Shaak Ti, characters on that order. The live-action series
is rumored to focus around the underworld during the Dark Times so these could almost work together.

*cringes* Sorry to be the debbie downer but am I the only one who thinks another animated show could be a disaster? SW is already oversaturated and with the
live action still in the works, I feel another serieswould be overkill.

Very interesting!!
So Clone Wars, Live Action and another animated series. Good times ahead! Since the Dark Times era is being saved for Live Action it'll be interesting to see where they set the second animated show. I can't see them doing a post-TPM/pre-AoC show whilst still doing Clone Wars as it would be largely the same cast of characters and in the video he said that he wanted the shows to explore different areas to the movies. OT is possible, but it would have to be set between ANH and ESB (or else no Han!) and that is already a very crowded area of timeline. The first few years after ROTJ (birth of the New Republic) is a good possibility, but I'd probably put my money on KOTOR era being the most likely choice. I guess another possibility would be setting it in the far future (like KOTOR but at the other end of the timeline) but I can't see that happening. Not sure why, but I just don't think they'd go there. |
