What Are You Playing? |

Figured this might be a good place for those on the forum who game to post if they've played any games recently. And not just console or handheld games,
you can post any cool online games as well!

Just finished "Spider-Man: Web of Shadows." Picked it up for $40 at a Black Friday sale. It isn't too bad, but nothing much amazing about it
either. The combat is pretty sweet, though.

Wii Sports. I just got a Wii.
I'm hoping to pick up Smash Brawl over the next couple of days. And Acky, weren't you playing Tomb Raider: Underworld like two years ago?

Oh.
I remembered you talking about a Tomb Raider game a long time ago in this forum, and neglecting to go find the post in order to verify, I just assumed they were the same. So I interpreted the "sweeeeeet" as sarcastic. Guess your time machine isn't working after all, dude. Too bad.

Lol. I'm playing it too, but I recently completed it on Apprentice difficulty, which means that even Sith Warrior is quite tough for me.

I have been playing Warhammer Online and started again World of Warcraft, but that was a waste of money - I have seem to lost my interest towards it.

Currently working on Little Big Planet, which is all sorts of fun. =) Also, I can't get enough of Rock Band 2, and am watching the husband play Fallout
3.

Playing The Force Unleashed. Finally borrowed this game from my cousin. Started out on Sith Warrior rank and got past Shak Tii, but after killing all those
Felucians I was burnt out. It wasn't fun. So I decided to start over on easy. Much better. Feels like I'm a Sith Apprentice now, immune to the attacks
of these peons while I cut them down with my lightsaber. However, there seems to be one elusive holocron in each level I can't find...guess I'll have
to look up a guide so I can find those.

In honor of the latest Halo novel release - I have been working my way back through the trilogy lately.
I hope to be playing quite a few games closer to the holidays (when I'll have more time and hopefully a little more money). I've got Gears of War 2, Fable 2 and Prince of Persia lined up. |

I'm playing Mass Effect (on PC). Only in the beginning, but disappointed so far: It looks like a rather simple shooter (with some hard to use squad
options) masquerading as an RPG. Even with maximum settings it doesn't look good beyond the cinematic scenes - which look good, but the choices in the
conversations seem to have little actual effect so far - but really outdated. Enemies are usually pixels in the distance. The UI is terrible, among the worst I
have used; Bioware has tried to make it probably more "accessible", but it's far worse than in KOTOR and mostly keyboard based instead of mouse,
which you almost solely use for shooting things. Oh, and the marvelous console "can't save now, we want you to do this part again and again" is
faithfully conserved in this version. Lucky I got it cheap...

Mainly I'm focusing my attentions on the DS remake of Final Fantasy III, which I got for my birthday back in August. Console-wise my wife and I are working
through Kingdom Hearts: Re:Chain of Memories; I play while she watches, which worked much better in the mainline Kingdom Hearts games with voice acting in all
the Disney worlds as well as the main plot stuff. When she's not around I bounce between Killzone and SoulCalibur III--mostly the latter, for fear of
encountering the dreaded corrupt data glitch. And on PCs...well, I haven't done much lately, but a few weeks ago I picked up a decent frontend for DOSBox
and a number of classic DOS games to go with it--Prince of Persia, Commander Keen, Jill of the Jungle, and so on. Plus I've got Morrowind lying around here
somewhere, and I happen to know that Civilization Chronicles is wrapped under the Christmas tree.
