I disagree. If they keep it vague, they can pop another book or two in that period of time and have a few guaranteed bestsellers. It's all about the money... which implies that Blood Oath was either decided that it focused too much on extraneous characters and wouldn't have a good draw for the regular Star Wars crowd (perhaps it was too connected with the events of LotF to be a standalone?), or it was terribly written.
As much as the opinionated side of me thinks it's the latter reason, the reasonable side of me seems pretty certain that it's the former.
