*Don't have authors that will use ONLY their own OCs/fave characters. Mix n' match. Otherwise the entire series will be disjointed and will not flow easily. Why can't Denning use Myri Antilles? Why can't Allston use Lowbacca? Why can't everyone else use the Mandalorians? Why does the personnel crew of Jacen's ship depend solely on which author is using them?

*Don't throw up curveballs like certain terrorists becoming galactic leaders without explaining why. That's just poor. It makes no sense. Especially when the characters just go along with it. If you give us ideas like this, have the decency to explain why they are so, don't just drop them on us and run.

*If you're going to give us the most fantastic ingredients to a series, try not to overcook it, or blow up the oven, or have them stirred in too much. Like LOTF. We had great ingredients, but by the time Revelation rolled around, the end result was not the tasty dish that the recipe book promised me it would be. And I think I got burned because their oven deceived me. Enough bad cooking analogies.

*Proper closure. If I'm going to invest three years of my life into this, and a considerable amount of money, and my passion, I'd like to have some kind of reward. Maybe reward is the wrong word. Maybe... reason. I'd like to have a REASON for investing all this into. A slap in the face is not a reason.

*Give Threepio and Artoo something to do. For crap's sake they may as well be dead or gone off to live by themselves. They're MAIN characters, despite what some of the authors seem to believe. If we can have entire subplots revolve around Boba Fett or Wedge Antilles then why not Threepio/Artoo? Just because they are not flesh and blood doesn't mean they aren't entertaining or should be relegated to once a book mentions.

*Some sort of something from someone remembering something positive about Jacen. I cannot believe that thirty years of his heroics, and love, and passions and strengths and feelings of positivity from other characters are simply erased by ten months of him being a Sith and doing evil things.

*Internal and intra-novel consistency. If someone is being a Sith Lord in secret, then please don't have every other character musing on how their secretive relative is a Sith Lord when they shouldn't even know this fact. If someone is imprisoned on the Millennium Falcon, and the next book picks up just days later and no one has left the ship, please don't forget that someone is imprisoned on the Falcon. If a character's eye colour is blue, please have it remain blue unless they specifically need an eye colour change and tell us how they're changing they're eye colour.

*Give us some sort of POSITIVE family interaction. Everyone's always about the death and the killing and the torture. How come we never got a scene at the end of Rebirth with everyone clustered around baby Ben? Why, after that glorious piece in Fury with Han, Leia and Allana, can we not have a scene where Jaina discovers she is an aunt, or Luke finds he is a great-uncle? Why can't Luke and Leia just hug? More of that family dinner/grandparents' revelation type scenes please!

*Solo men Force ghosts. If they don't want to worry Mara fans and show that YES INDEED she is a Force ghost and is watching over Ben and Luke, why can't anyone do the same for poor Jacen and Anakin. No offense to Mara, but with every other book telling me how POWERFUL and how much of a PRODIGY and how STRONG and AWESOME Anakin and Jacen are, it seems odd that they're slouching in the Blue Ghost department. Sure, Luke may have never sat them down and said, "This is how you Force ghost," but why couldn't they have stumbled on to it themselves? Why does one have to be TOLD? Why couldn't Ikrit or someone have pulled an Obi-Wan Yoda with the Solos like Obi/Yoda did for Anakin Skywalker and just MAKE THEM Forde ghosts when they died? Why do we even have to know HOW the Solos become Force ghosts? Can't they just becom Force ghosts without telling the readers exactly how they did it and leave it at that? It worked for Mara! I'm not going to say, "Hey, Mara is NOT a Force ghost because no one told me how she did it so I reject Ghost Mara from my personal canon and that's that." I want my Jacen/Anakin Force ghosts! This could also be a brilliant device for having them as ongoing characters WITHOUT cloning, resurrection or any other type of corporeal return. It would also provide much ANGST.

*Tell us ENGAGING storylines that make me care without effort. This can be done. Del Rey has done it before. So they can easily do it again. I don't think its fair for other fans to come to me and be all, "MrNomAnor, you should care about this story for this reason and that one and that one."
Del Rey should do that for me with their... you know... storytelling.

*Lord Cronal. Just.... anything Lord Cronal. Please.

*Antilles/Fel family reunion. Why? Because it past due time and it would be one of the most overall fan pleasing things ever. Seriously, who could say no to this?

*YJK: Stop making them insane or evil or excessively emotionally damaged. And while you're at it, bring back Raynar, stop relegating Lowie and Tesar to cameos, and stop making Tahiri everyone's little bitch. These are interesting characters damnit, and not the whipping boys and girls of the Expanded Universe.

*In short: make me CARE again.
