This sounds awesome just because it is a Jedi book, and Allston is a good author. I am hoping it is Post LOTF, but it sounds like Dark Times. Though I think DT
is off limits..

I am going to assume it is the DT era? Allston should do well. I don't mind the length because it will be a stand alone and, hopefully, not have to wrap up
bits and pieces of another story.

Is it a standalone novel...I assumed it was a trilogy. I guess a stand alone would be refreshing.

oops! is it a stand alone? I rushed through reading the info so I didn't analyze it. Well, I will still breathe easy because it will be done by one author
not multiples. We need a break from that I think...

I hope it is a standalone, and at least if it isn't it is by the same author. That way the characters and writing style won't drastically change.

the fact that the title above ends with the number 1, leads me to beleive that this will be a series.
I can't entirely deny that my recent grumpiness is from a lack of getting laid.

If it is a DT book, I hope it follows a Jedi we already know, maybe A'Sharad Hett. Shed some more light on his fall, or someone we know and love.

I'd bet it's post MF, but I suppose we'll see. No matter what, it's exciting to see Allston get more SW work - I have very little doubt
I'll enjoy this novel.
IF it is post MF, hopefully this is the beginning of them doing exactly what I had hoped - giving each author their own section of the universe to expand the story past LotF simultaneously with other authors/series. Fate of the Jedi... could signify/encompass a split (Imperial Knights) of the Jedi. |

I am excited. Screw DT, please, by all the SW gods out there let him write post MF. I cannot be the only one who wants to know what the heck the whole horn family is up too (mostly Jysella) not to mentione the Antilles children can get some more good characterization. Plus Tycho, Gavin, possibly more Fels...excuse me while I faint with the possibilities.

Once upon a time I would have read it no matter what, but the fact is that after LOTF, anything else by any of those authors I am going to be very skeptical
of, at best. And if it is in fact post-LOTF and building off LOTF, then that is not going to help convince me to read it.
Also, was I the only one who never liked Allston's lame attempts at humor? The guy is a decent writer and has good idea, but honestly, I don't gt why just about every fan who's read any book of his thinks he's the funniest guy ever born. I mean, this really sums up most of his jokes: Wedge: We're going to disguise you as an Ewok. Hobbie: YUB YUB! By the way remember how I keep getting into accidents but am good looking? |

I have a feeling this is going to be set post-MF, and I am excited. When I first saw this I thought it would be during the DT, but with Coruscant Nights and
the Dark Times comic (is on hiatus, but should be back by early 2009) that era is good to go. The appearance of this book has me excited for the future of the
EU. Personally, I would rather see something post-MF only because DR seems to be moving in the direction of the plot points established in the Legacy comic.

this sounds like it could be good but i dont think allston has every written a book that has mainly featured jedi which i would presume this one would but it
sounds brill

If this is Dark Times, then I've just shat myself. If this is Post-LOTF, I've also shat myself. In glee, both times. I'm kinda hoping this is Post-LOTF as I'd really like to see Syal, Myri, Valin and Tycho again, and hopefully this time 'round Jysella. But if it is Dark Times, I'd just pee myself because we'd get some chocolate-y Allston goodness anyways. And hopefully some of Booster Terrik's earlier shenanigans. And Corran Horn's ancestors. Dig that! Thumbs way down on shithouse page count though, if that reflects the final product. Seriously, we all need to stop buying SW books UNTIL they get the message and inject some Botox into these annorexic books. |

 True..but if you notice I also mentioned the Horn children (with
emphasis on Jysella) and last I checked, they were Jedi...Besides, Allston doesn't need to give the characters pages upon pages of screen time. A cameo or
how are they doing would be nice and it is something Allston can pull off. And the Jedi are not the only living beings in the galaxy. It would make sense for
them to get outside help or have outside interaction. But either way it doesn't matter I guess..as it has been stated, it is Aaron Allston! It should be
pretty sweet whoever is in it.
