Millennium Falcon
Author: James Luceno
Cover artist: Jon Van Fleet
Release date: October 21, 2008

Climb aboard, buckle up, and prepare to jump to hyperspace for the ultimate flight on the ship that launched a thousand fates!
Two years have passed since the defeat of Darth Caedus, the former Jacen Solo. For a grieving Han and Leia, the shadow of their son's tragic downfall still looms large. But Jacen's own bright and loving daughter, Allana, offers a ray of hope for the future as she thrives in her grandparents' care. The eager, inquisitive and Force-strong girl makes a curious discovery aboard her grandfather's beloved spacecraft - the much-overhauled but ever-dependable Millennium Falcon. The Solo family then finds itself at a new turning point, about to set out on an odyssey into uncertain territory, untold adventure, and unexpected rewards.
To Han, who knows every bolt, weld, and sensor of the Falcon as if they were parts of himself, the strange device Allana shows him is utterly alien. But its confounding presence -- and Allana's infectious desire to unravel its mystery -- are impossible to dismiss. The only answer lies in backtracking into the past on a fact-finding expedition to retrace the people, places, and events in the checkered history of the vessel that's done everything from making the Kessel Run "in less than twelve parsecs" to helping topple an evil Empire.
From the moment the Falcon broke loose from a Corellian assembly line like an untamed creature with a will of its own, it seemed destined to seek out trouble. It wasn't long before the feisty YT-1300 freighter went from shuttling cargo to smuggling contraband. But it's a fateful rendezvous on Coruscant, at the explosive height of the Republic/Separatist uprising, that launches a galaxywide cat-and-mouse game whose newest players are Han, Leia, Allana and C-3PO. And they're not alone: Crime lords, galactic pirates, rogue politicians and fortune hunters alike loom at every turn of the quest -- each with his or her own desperate stake in the Millennium Falcon's most momentous mission.
Through the years and across the stars, from the Rim Worlds to points beyond, the race will lead them all to a final standoff for a prize some will risk everything to find -- and pay any cost to possess.
*Alternate Blurb #1: With the end of the brief but brutal reign of Darth Caedus comes a period of unexpected stability. Under the strong hand of former Imperial Admiral Daala, star systems set aside their differences in the hope of forging a lasting peace.
But for the Jedi, many of whom had once looked to Jacen Solo for inspiration, the transition has been anything but smooth, as Luke Skywalker strives to chart a new course for the Order, and gropes for an understanding of what ultimately drove his nephew to embrace the dark teachings of the evil Sith Lords.
The road to reconciliation has been harder still for Han and Leia Solo, who have now lost both of their sons. Some measure of solace comes in the form of Allana, Jacen's Force sensitive daughter, whom the Solos have adopted at the request of the girl's mother, Queen Tenel Ka of Hapes. But Han, especially, craves the distraction of action, so he, Leia and Allana embark on an investigation into the origin of the Millennium Falcon, the charmed starship that has seen Han through so many years of adventure.
By all indications, their quest should be safe, innocent: something to keep them interested and busy. But as they piece together the clues of the past, hints of a more profound mystery begin to reveal themselves, and a faceless threat lies in wait-one that has already launched a tentative assault not only on the Jedi Order, but on the Force itself.
*Alternate Blurb #2: Shortly after the events of the Legacy of the Force series, Han and Leia encounter something hidden on the Millennium Falcon that dates back to the years before Han won the ship from Lando Calrissian. In an effort to unravel the mystery, they follow the clues of the Falcon's history back to its very construction, and discover an elaborate - and failed - plot to overthrow the Emperor!
*Millennium Falcon will begin at least two years after the conclusion of Invincible, and Allana will be six or seven. More specifically, Millennium Falcon begins in 43.44 ABY (going off of a twelve-month year). Legacy of the Force ended in the middle of 41 ABY.
*Although this could be construed as major spoilage, Ms Rostoni has assured fans that Han, Leia and Allana will all make it back from their travels alive.
Fate of the Jedi 1: Outcast
Author: Aaron Allston
Cover artist: Ian Keltie
Release Date: March 24, 2009

Fate of the Jedi launches a huge story arc, with heroic roles for the galaxy's most beloved characters - Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa Solo, and their surviving children, Ben Skywalker and Jaina Solo. While Luke and Ben set off on the journey of a lifetime - of discovery and hardship, of obstacles and victory - the others remain in more familiar territory, dealing with the aftermath of the civil war that rocked the galaxy in Legacy of the Force.
Blurb # 1: After violent civil war, and the devastation wrought by the now-fallen Darth Caedus, the Galactic Alliance is in crisis -- and in need. From all corners, politicians, power brokers, and military leaders converge on Coruscant for a crucial summit to restore order, negotiate differences, and determine the future of their unified worlds. But even more critical, and far more uncertain, is the future of the Jedi.
In a shocking move, Chief of State Natasi Daala orders the arrest of Luke Skywalker for failing to prevent Jacen Solo's turn to the dark side and subsequent reign of terror as a Sith Lord. But it's only the first blow in an anti-Jedi backlash fueled by a hostile government and suspicious public. When Jedi Knight Valin Horn, scion of a politically influential family, suffers a mysterious psychotic break and becomes a dangerous fugitive, the Jedi become the target of a media-driven witch-hunt. Facing conviction on the damning charges, Luke has only one choice. He must strike a bargain with the calculating Daala: his freedom in exchange for his exile -- from Coruscant and from the Jedi Order.
Now, though forbidden to intervene in Jedi affairs, Luke is determined to keep grim history from being repeated. With his son, Ben, at his side, Luke sets out to unravel the shocking truth behind Jacen Solo's corruption and downfall. But the secrets he uncovers among the enigmatic Force mystics of the distant world Dorin may bring his quest -- and life as he knows it -- to a sudden end. And all the while, another Jedi Knight, consumed by the same madness as Valin Horn, is headed for Coruscant on a fearsome mission that could doom the Jedi Order . . . and devastate the entire galaxy.
Blurb # 2: It has been two years since the death of Darth Caedus. Chief of State Natasi Daala has ushered the Galactic Alliance into a time of unprecented calm, and now the entire galaxy stands poised to freely embrace the same enduring peace that Jacen Solo once sought to impose as a Sith Lord.
In this new era, Luke Skywalker finds himself battling for control of the very order he founded. After Jacen's fall to the dark side, much of the galaxy sees Jedi Knights as rogue soldiers too dangerous and unstable to leave unfettered. It is a view shared by Chief Daala, who has sworn to bring the order under government control--or disband it entirely.
But the greatest threat to the Jedi remains unseen, a faceless menace even more lethal and insidious than the Sith who have plagued the Jedi for millennia. Awakened by Jacen Solo during his five-year odyssey, this hidden peril is reaching out from the darkest corner of the galaxy, assaulting Jedi Knights in ways that Luke has yet to perceive--but which he must quickly thwart if he is to have any hope of redeeming the New Jedi Order.
*Luke and Ben attempt to follow Jacen's previous journey in the hopes of discovering what and how various Force-using groups influenced him to accept and use dark side powers.
*Fate of the Jedi begins in 42 ABY, placing it in the same year as Millennium Falcon. Specifically, Outcast begins in 43.5 ABY, which is merely a week or so after Millennium Falcon.
*Luke Skywalker will feature on the cover of Outcast.

Release Date: June 23 , 2009

Blurb #1: The Jedi Order is in crisis. The late Jacen Solo's shocking transformation into murderous Sith Lord Darth Caedus has cast a damning pall over those who wield the Force for good. Two Jedi Knights have succumbed to an inexplicable and dangerous psychosis. Criminal charges have driven Luke Skywalker into self-imposed exile. And power-hungry Chief of State Natasi Daala is exploiting anti-Jedi sentiment to undermine the Order's influence within the Galactic Alliance.
Forbidden to intervene in Jedi affairs, Luke is on a desperate mission to uncover the truth behind Jacen's fall to the dark side -- and to learn what's turning peaceful Jedi into raving lunatics. But finding answers will mean venturing into the mind-bending space of the Kathol Rift, and bargaining with an alien species as likely to destroy outsiders as deal with them. Still, there is no other choice and no time to lose, as the catastrophic events on Coruscant continue to escalate. Stricken by the same violent dementia that infected her brother, Valin, Jedi Knight Jysella Horn faces an equally grim fate after her capture by Daala's police. And when Han and Leia Solo narrowly foil another deranged Jedi bent on deadly destruction, even acting Grand Master Kenth Hamner appears willing to bow to Daala's iron will -- at the expense of the Jedi Order.
But an even greater threat is looming. Millennia in the past, a Sith starship crashed on an unknown, low-tech planet, leaving the survivors stranded. Over the generations, their numbers have grown anew, the ways of the dark side have been nurtured, and the time is fast approaching when this lost tribe of Sith will once more take to the stars to reclaim their legendary destiny as rulers of the galaxy. Only one thing stands in their way to dominance, a name whispered to them through the Force: Skywalker.
Blurb #2: In Omen by Christie Golden, book two of the Fate of the Jedi saga, Jedi Knights are going insane, their uncontrolled Force talents threatening everyone around them. Exploiting anti-Jedi sentiment, power-hungry Chief of State Natasi Daala is sending police to hunt them down and deal with them the only safe way they know how: by freezing them in carbonite. Now one of these deranged Knights is displaying a rare Force ability known only to the late Jacen Solo and the alien Force-users called the Aing-Tii. On a desperate mission to uncover the truth behind Jacen's fall to the dark side, Luke Skywalker and his son Ben head to the Aing-Tii's world to figure out the connection. While Han and Leia Solo narrowly foil another deranged Jedi bent on destruction, an even greater threat is looming. Millennia in the past, a Sith starship crashed on an unknown planet, leaving the survivors stranded. Over the generations, the ways of the dark side have been nurtured, and now, unbeknownst to anyone, this lost tribe of Sith is poised to reclaim their self-determined destiny as rulers of the galaxy. Only one thing stands in their way, a name whispered to them through the Force: Skywalker.
*The Sith female on the front cover is a character named Vestara.
*Luke and Ben will get into trouble. So will everyone else.

Fate of the Jedi 3: Abyss
Author: Troy Denning
Cover artist: Ian Keltie
Release Date: August 18, 2009

Blurb #1: Following a trail of clues across the galaxy, Luke Skywalker continues his quest to find the reasons behind Jacen Solo's dark downfall and to win redemption for the Jedi Order. Sojourning among the mysterious Aing-Tii monks has left Luke and his son Ben with no real answers, only the suspicion that the revelations they seek lie in the forbidden reaches of the distant Maw Cluster. There, hidden from the galaxy in a labyrinth of black holes, dwell the Mind Walkers: those whose power to transcend their bodies and be one with the Force is as seductive and intoxicating as it is potentially fatal. But it may be Luke's only path to the truth.
Meanwhile, on Coruscant, the war of wills between Galactic Alliance Chief of State Natasi Daala and the Jedi Order is escalating. Outraged over the carbonite freezing of young Jedi Knights Valin and Jysella Horn after their inexplicable mental breakdowns, the Jedi are determined to defy Daala's martial tactics, override Council Master Kenth Hamner's wavering leadership, and deal on their own terms with the epidemic of madness preying on their ranks. As Han and Leia Solo, along with their daughter Jaina, join the fight to protect more stricken Knights from arrest, Jedi healers race to find a cure for the rapidly spreading affliction. But none of them realize the blaster barrel is already swinging in their direction–and Chief Daala is about to pull the trigger.
Nor do Luke and Ben, deep in the Maw Cluster and pushing their Force abilities beyond known limits, realize how close they are to the Sith strike squad bent on exterminating the Skywalkers, to a nexus of dark-side energy unprecedented in its power and its hunger, and to an explosive confrontation between opposing wielders of the Force from which only one Master - good or evil - can emerge alive.
Blurb #2: Tensions are heightening across the galaxy as more Jedi Knights seemingly go insane and anti-Jedi sentiment, fed by fear and mistrust, spreads from world to world. Han and Leia Solo have their hands full helping the Jedi Order keep the affected Knights out of the grip of government security -- whose only solution is to freeze the offenders in carbonite.
Meanwhile, Luke Skywalker and his son, Ben, arrive in the mysterious part of space called the Maw, in search of more clues to whatever it was that caused Jacen Solo's fall to the dark side. It is here, in the Maw, that they will confront the members of a lost Sith tribe who are determined to kill Luke. And it is here, too, where Ben will meet the Force ghost of his dead mother, Mara Jade.
Blurb #3: Luke and Ben Skywalker arrive in the mysterious part of space called the Maw in search of more clues as to what caused Jacen Solo's downfall into the dark side. But they are not the only ones exploring the Maw: a Sith Master and her apprentice arrive there, too, having followed the delinquent ancient Sith ship found by Ben in Legacy of the Force - and they're thrilled to find Luke there, because they are determined to kill him. But there's another powerful being hiding in The Maw. It's enormously strong, purely evil, and it has its own plans for Luke Skywalker...
*Something Hapans in this novel. What Hapans is anyone's guess, but something definitely Hapans.
*Ben will have a dinner date.
Crosscurrent
Author: Paul S. Kemp
Cover artist: Dave Seeley
Release Date: January 26, 2010

Blurb #1: An ancient Sith ship hurtles into the future carrying a lethal cargo that could forever destroy Luke Skywalker's hopes for peace.
The Civil War is almost over when Jedi Knight Jaden Korr experiences a Force vision so intense he must act. Enlisting two salvage jocks and their ship, Jaden sets out into space. Someone -- or something -- appears to be in distress.
But what Jaden and his crew find confounds them. A five-thousand-year-old dreadnaught -- bringing with it a full force of Sith and one lone Jedi -- has inadvertently catapulted eons from the past into the present. The ship's weapons may not be cutting-edge, but its cargo, a special ore that makes those who use the dark side nearly invincible, is unsurpassed. The ancient Jedi on board is determined to destroy the Sith. But for Jaden, even more is at stake: for his vision has led him to uncover a potentially indestructible threat to everything the Jedi Order stands for.
Blurb #2: Thousands of years before the Legacy of the Force series, two Sith ships were sabotaged, resulting in the crash of one on a distant, isolated planet, and the loss of the other in a hyperspace anomaly. The survivors of the crashed ship evolved into the Lost Tribe of Sith introduced in our new Fate of the Jedi series. But the other ship was lost in a kind of time warp, finally exiting hyperspace far, far in the future - the time of the Legacy of the Force series, a very different galaxy from the one they left behind in what seems to be almost no time at all. Now Jedi Knight Jaden Korr - who will be introduced as a new Star Wars character in Fate of the Jedi: Abyss - must find a way to prevent these time-traveling Sith from asserting their horrific ambitions over a galaxy already reeling from the depredations of the control-hungry Jacen Solo.
*Excerpt 1: He sped around the planet, outpacing its spin, chasing the day, until he saw the system's star crest the horizon line.
"Put us in geosynchronous, R-6," he said, and the droid complied.
Jaden stared out and down the cockpit's window as the planet rotated into day. Light filled his cockpit, washed over the planet's surface by increments, unveiling a quilt of clouds floating over the red, orange, and tan of vast deserts, the blue smear of an ocean, the spine of a mountain range that ran the length of the main continent. To Jaden, it was like watching the slow reveal of a masterful work of art, a sculpture of earth and water, wondrous in its lonely, whirling trek through the emptiness of space. He always tried to see a starcrest from orbit before setting foot on a planet. He wasn't sure why - maybe he wanted to see every world in its best light before putting down on its surface.
Unbidden, he recalled a starcrest over Corellia that he'd seen from a viewport aboard Centerpoint Station as he and his strike force had moved through the metal maze of its corridors.
He dismissed the memory quickly, pained by the realization that his actions on Centerpoint had polluted even this, one of the small pleasures he had long enjoyed.
*Dramatis Personae:
Jaden Korr; Jedi Knight (human male)
Kell Douro; assassin/spy (Anzati male)
Khedryn Faal; captain, Junker (human male)
Maar Idi-Shael; first mate, Junker (Cerean male)
Relin Druur; Jedi Master (human male)
Saes Rrogon; Sith Lord, captain, Harbinger (Kaleesh male)
Drev Hassin; Jedi Padawan (Askajian male)
*This novel will be a standalone set some time after Legacy of the Force. It will take place partly in 5000 BBY and partly sometime in the vicinity of 41 ABY.
*This character is Jaden Korr, who will feature in this novel with a group of original characters. Characters Kyle Katarn and Valin Horn will not be appearing.
*Part of this novel will take place during the Great Hyperspace War.
*The human male on the cover is actually a Jedi called Relin. The Kaleesh Sith is called Saes.
*Paul Kemp on Jaden Korr: "Jaden is a complex character. His relationship to the Force is strong, but the nature of the relationship troubles him. His Master, Kyle Katarn, had a view of the Force more in line with the Potentium school (the Force as tool, rather than the morally loaded terms of Dark and Light), but Jaden isn't so sure. Recent events in the Civil War, and in particular Jaden's actions in the assault on Centerpoint Station, have made his internal conflict more acute. He'll be working out that conflict in Crosscurrent."
Fate of the Jedi 4: Backlash
Author: Aaron Allston
Cover artist: Ian Keltie
Release Date: April 13, 2010

Blurb #1: Repercussions from the dark side's fatal seduction of Jacen Solo and the mysterious plague of madness afflicting young Jedi continue to wreak havoc galaxy-wide. Having narrowly escaped the deranged Force worshippers known as the Mind Walkers, and a deadly Sith hit squad, Luke and Ben Skywalker are in pursuit of the now Masterless Sith apprentice Vestara Khai. It is a chase that leads to the forbidding planet Dathomir, where an enclave of powerful dark-side Force-wielders will give Vestara the edge she needs to escape -- and where the Skywalkers will be forced into combat for their quarry and their lives.
Meanwhile, Han and Leia Solo are on their own desperate mission, shuttling madness-stricken Jedi from Coruscant to safe haven in the Transitory Mists -- and beyond the grasp of Galactic Alliance Chief of State Natasi Daala. But the bold maneuver only intensifies Daala's fury, and she is determined to shatter Jedi Order resistance once and for all.
Yet, no greater threat exists than that which still waits in the depths of the distant Maw Cluster: A being of pure, ravenous dark-side energy named Abeloth calls out across the stars to Jedi and Sith alike. For some, it may be the ultimate source of answers crucial to their survival. For others, it could be the ultimate weapon of conquest. But for all, it is a game-changing -- and life-altering -- encounter of untold magnitude, and a tactical gambit with unimaginable consequences.
Blurb #2: Three major storylines run through the series. One is the odyssey of Jedi Grand Master-in-exile Luke Skywalker and his son Ben, as they travel from one world of non-Jedi Force-users to the next in search of clues as to what might have turned Jacen Solo to embrace the evil ways of the Sith Lords. The second is the attempt of Galactic Alliance Chief of State Natasi Daala to break the power of the Jedi Order, while young Jedi Knights on a variety of worlds are inexplicably going insane. And the third is the tale of a previously unknown lost tribe of Sith as they rejoin the known galaxy determined to kill Luke Skywalker, destroy all the Jedi, and reinstate the Sith as supreme rulers. In Backlash, Luke and Ben will visit the deadly world of Dathomir, home to the Nightsisters, otherwise known as the Dathomiri witches, as an ancient evil, released from its prison, stretches its hungry tendrils ever farther through the galaxy.
Blurb #3: The fourth novel in a thrilling new story arc for fans of the Legacy of the Force series, the Dark Lords of the Sith, and the most popular characters in Star Wars, Luke, Han, and Leia!
The tension is heightening in the brand-new nine-book Star Wars series, Fate of the Jedi. More and more Jedi Knights are going seemingly insane, and anti-Jedi sentiment, fed by fear and mistrust, is spreading throughout the galaxy. Now Han and Leia are on the run with three of the affected Jedi, trying to keep them out of the hands of government security--whose only solution is to freeze the offenders in carbonite.
Luke Skywalker's odyssey to learn what corrupted Jacen Solo and turned him to the dark side leads him and his son, Ben, to the homeworld of the Nightsisters, the strange Force-users also called the Dathomiri witches.
Dathomir holds deadly danger as well as arcane mysteries, and as Luke and Ben, Han and Leia Solo, and the Sith girl, Vestara, converge there, it will take all their combined knowledge and skills to escape alive.
Blood Oath
Author: Elaine Cunningham
Cover artist: Dave Seeley
Release date: CANCELLED

Blurb # 1: Once an orphan scavenging on the streets of Coruscant's undercity, he rose to become a Jedi Knight and serve with honor as a fighter pilot for the New Republic. Alongside Jaina Solo, he confronted the forces of Darth Caedus - the most powerful of the Sith Lords - in a battle that nearly destroyed him. But his story isn't over. For Zekk, the future holds much more...
Darth Caedus is dead, and the war is ended. Still, the Imperial Remnant remains a very real threat for the Galactic Alliance. And though the Moffs' attempted assassination of Tenel Ka, Queen Mother of the Hapes Consortium, has failed, their machinations have uncovered an ancient secret capable of destroying the queen and her people as surely as the deadliest attack.
As Jag Fel, Imperial Remnant leader and Zekk's longtime rival for Jaina Solo's affections, assumes control of the Moff Council - stepping right into a nest of explosive intrigue - Zekk, desperate to contact his Jedi comrades, finds himself at the mercy of a pirate captain with an unknown agenda and allegiance to none but herself. But with or without her, the Knight vows to do whatever it takes to stop the volatile conflict unfolding around him from reaching its fatal endgame.
*Blood Oath is a standalone novel focusing on the adventures (and misadventures) of Zekk, a Jedi Knight best known for his uncertain relationship with Jaina Solo. The story picks up right after the events of Invincible, the last book in the Legacy of the Force series, when Zekk went missing in action. The search for him uncovers something...else. Something that has been kept hidden for thousands of years.
*Blood Oath will begin during the Battle of Shedu Maad in which Zekk went missing, and will finish a few months later. This means it will end over a year before Millennium Falcon starts.
*According to Elaine Cunningham, Blood Oath will be doing a bit of this: "...a self-contained story, rather than an episode within a larger tale. Blood Oath is an adventure story shadowed by political intrigue, with a bit of humor and maybe a hint of romance.
*It's most probable that Tenel Ka will be in Blood Oath.
*Jaina Solo will be in this novel in some capacity.

*Troy Denning has reported on Facebook that the manuscript for Apocalypse is 155,000 words at this stage; however this will likely change as it moves through the editing process.
Series in general:
*The plan is for the covers of the series to have one main character and one secondary character featured.
*The timeline of this series will more or less be the same length (in-universe) as Legacy of the Force, though this may change as the series progresses.
*The original title of this series was to be Star Wars: Odyssey. The main reasoning behind this is because the storylines borrow elements from Homer's Odyssey.
*Early on in the planning of the series, Karen Traviss was to be the third author (alongside Troy Denning and Aaron Allston) but her work schedule did not permit this.

Blood Oath

There can be no surrender.
There will be no mercy.
It’s not just the future of the galaxy at stake—
It’s the destiny of the Force.
In the stunning finale of the epic Fate of the Jedi series, Jedi and Sith face off—with Coruscant as their battlefield. For the Sith, it’s the chance to restore their dominance over the galaxy that forgot them for so long. For Abeloth, it’s a giant step in her quest to conquer all life everywhere. For Luke Skywalker, it’s a call to arms to eradicate the Sith and their monstrous new master once and for all.
In a planetwide strike, teams of Jedi Knights take the Sith infiltrators by swift and lethal surprise. But victory against the cunning and savage Abeloth, and the terrifying endgame she has planned, is anything but certain. And as Luke, Ben, Han, Leia, Jaina, Jag, and their allies close in, the devastating truth about the dark side incarnate will be exposed—and send shock waves through the Jedi Order, the galaxy, and the Force itself.
