Okay....
Now.... this is the sort of behaviour that makes me upset. Not in an "I'm going to have a big cry" upset but more "I'm fast losing faith
in people having decent human values" upset. Think about it guys... People are going to come into this particular thread desiring a)
massive spoilers b) a discussion of events of the latest release c) to see what other people think d) to
gauge whether or not they will spend time to go and buy and then read this book e) a combination of he previous four.
A lot of these people will be folks who visit the site everyday. Most will be regular NJOErs. A lot, however WON'T be and will be visiting this site just
for spoilers.
And what will everyone see? Behaviour that is suited to a primary school playground. It's unattractive. It's immature. And those
participating aren' doing themselves any favours.
I see a bit of familybusiness defending him(?)self, which I don't think he(?) should've had to do in the first place. Is it frustrating waiting for him
to deploy some spoilers? To some without patience, perhaps it is. But really, he's not here and your personal beck and call. I know it may be a hard
concept for some to grasp, but people do have lives. Accusing him of "not having the book" and random other stuff isn't going to endear him to
you, nor, I imagine will it make him think, "Gee, I'm being treated so awesomely, I might just spoil the entire book."
I myself was looking forward to this release particularly for a variety of reasons and now I just feel all these things I shouldn't be feeling because of
behaviour like this.
And this has gone on for 2+ pages. Really, why waste your own time, and everyone else's.
I also feel like personal attacks were made by both sides, and I'm kinda glad that everyone else in this thread took the stance of, "Well, we're
not getting involved, but we want ou both to stop." So thanks to everyone else.
And although I just saw a couple of forumers mention it, my thinking was (anyway) that I am going to lock this thread and start another. There will be no
bitching at people who have the book bu don't give you every single spoiler you want. If they want to give you spoilers, they will. It also would not hurt
to ask nicely. Also, just a thought, but perhaps if one has the book, then one should maybe not be all, "I have the book. But I won't say anything at
all whatsoever" because that may... upset/antagonise/deflate some people. Also a thought, if you have the book early, but don't want to spoil, why not
make people work for the spoilers. Give a multiple choice with one answer being correct. Or word something really cyptically to make people think about it.
Just a thought. Take it or leave it.
So... yeah. I expected much better, especially after so many were disappointed with the end of LOTF. This isn't at all how I wanted to enter the next phase
of the EU.
