There's at least two great differences between Jacen and the IKs. First, Jacen is really comparable only to Roan Fel, who is the Emperor and an IK. The IKs follow him, and Jacen was supposed to be his own boss. So, the average IK differs from Jacen in this. Secondly, Jacen did use Dark Side powers occasionally and now it's claimed that the IKs use only Light Side powers. So, they are not what Jacen was supposed to be based on NJO. They don't have any special vision of the Force, they are just a small group of Force users serving the Empire through serving the Fel Emperors.

Personally I dislike the concept of them. They are serving the Emperor of the Galactic Empire, Palpatine's creation. It's still the same Empire, and Legacy shows that the attempt of Fels to water down it's evil has failed. Roan Fel is a dictator and a murderer. Yes, he is no Sith and Krayt's the far bigger threat, but that doesn't make Roan Fel a good guy, nor people serving him good guys. The Empire is evil. I can't cheer for people working for the Empire. And yet, here we have the Fel Empire as the good guys, and GA destroyed. I sometimes wonder are the authors and much of the readers just a bunch of far-right wackos with their love for the Empire and it's symbols. I mean, the Empire is supposed to be bad, without no shades of gray. And yet we have it existing far longer than either NR or GA. They fail, but not the Empire. And this strongly colours my opinion of the IKs. They just seem another way of selling the authoritarian Empire to the readers, trying to make it look cool and good in the same package through them.

Also, the IKs, the little we have seen of them, seem to be somewhat pompous and consider themselves superior to the Jedi. Of course, most of this do come from Antares Draco, who might not be a typical IK, but he is, on the other hand, their leader, so his opinions can't be that much atypical. I like Jedi. If some new guys on the block come telling how much better they are and how the Jedi are no match for them, then certainly I take a negative view towards them. And that they are serving the Fels - a family that I have never liked, but towards which I have been pretty neutral until lately - doesn't help things a bit. I don't want any Empire loving and then Empire ruling Fels taking the place of the Solos nor their servant IKs becoming competitors for the Jedi.

So, the IKs are bad, but they are not, sadly, evil. The Fel Empire is bad, but not as bad as the part of Empire controlled by the Sith or Palpatine's Empire.

Hard to answer to that question without Revelation spoilers. But it attacks GA because of the sabotaged Vongforming, fights for 3 years and enters in to an alliance with the Sith about 2 years in to the war, and when Sith took over, almost the whole Empire follows them. It's more powerful than Pellaeon's Empire, more expansionist than his Empire, at least as authoritarian and led by fools who make deals with the Sith.

We have no evidence that Roan Fel has earned anyone's respect as far as I remember. Instead we have his own words that he deserves to be Emperor based on the fact from which family he comes from. It's not merit that has brought him his position, but the position of his parents.

High ranking officials bad, ruler good is an old, tired claim. The ruler will always have more in common with the officials than the people. And removing the officials just makes the ruler and absolute ruler, with no check to his power.

The Imperial Mission is just a name. It's description is vague and it's current leaders supports the Sith. And 11 years after YV war ended there is no evidence that the IR would have done anything at all to help words outside it's own borders.

Most of his troops didn't stay loyal to him. Otherwise it would be him sitting on a throne in Coruscant and not Darth Krayt.
