Hearing cheers, cries of hope, and songs of joy around him as his Intecid and Yuuzhan Veggie guards joined the Weepers in their chants and songs, Acky Jr. took a deep breath, then slowly walked into the temple, the doors held open by the most sacred guards. Frowning as he marveled at the beauty of the place, filled with wood-carved sculptures and glistening diamonds, he made his way through the front hall.

And all the while, he felt out of place. Acky Jr. had known immediately that he was the one referred to in the Weeper prophesy when he had heard it; it was an almost unmistakable reference. But once he began strolling through the grand red wood halls, he couldnt help but feel tinges of doubt. How could I be the one for this?, he asked himself solemnly. These halls are so grand; the mission is so sacred. Can I possibly do this?

Making his way through another passageway, he looked up to find himself in a very unusual room. The walls were bare, devoid of the sculptures, paintings, and poetic calligraphies that gave the front hall its character. The floor, which had been made of a strong wood in the front, was simply stone, unrefined, uncarved, and untouched. The room seemed to stretch for a great while, the only obstacles to sight two seven foot towers at opposite sides of a seemingly endless schism that cut the room in half.

Feeling his heart pounding with fear and nervousness, Acky Jr. looked at the tower before him. It was rather plainly built, the stone primitively packed together. The only sign of advanced craftsmanship was a single stationary globe resting at the top.

Acky Jr. knew immediately what to do.

Suddenly, he found his heart calm, his mind clear, and his stature high. What seemed to be an impossible task before now seemed possible, even simple. Confidence, love, and peace coursing through him, Acky Jr. ascended the stairs of the small tower, hardly noticing the steepness or the difficulty in climbing. Stepping proudly to the top, he stepped forward, extending his hands toward the globe and stretching out with the Force. And then, with the support of the Force behind him, he pressed his hands carefully upon the globe.

He had not been prepared for the sea of emotions, thoughts, and senses that streamed to him from the globe. He saw the history of the Weepers, always living quietly with the planet in the hopes of returning to their home of legend. He heard the inaudible animals of the dark forests, their struggle to survive. He experienced Oranges settlement of Gowwsy, and the pains, failures, joys, and successes of the operation. And he felt the energy from within the planet, slight and weak but there nonetheless, ready to restore the universe at his command.

Reaching from within, Acky Jr. concentrated on the planets energy, using the Force to try to restore all that had been lost-

Well, well, well, whispered a voice from the other side of the divide. Maintaining his grip on the planets energy with the Force, Acky Jr. glanced over the deep trench to see Colonel Korn and a hooded figure standing confrontationally on the other side. I see you have come to meet your end, said Korn, his voice thin and layered like a snakes hiss.

Acky Jr. hardly heard him, instead staring at the hooded man. Something about that stance seemed familiar...

As if responding directly to his thoughts, the hooded man stepped forward, gripping his cloak to part it from his head... to reveal the sneering face of Admiral Carrot.

Admiral! shouted Acky Jr. Youre-

The one and only, Carrot replied, the sneer on his face transforming to a sardonic smirk. Surprised, Acky Jr?

Enough of this. We dont have time to discuss this, said Korn sharply. Reaching toward his own globe, he smiled at Acky Jr. How about it? A competition of wills.

Acky Jr. was more than happy to oblige.

Tuvok! Report! shouted Janeway as the ship buckled sharply to the right, then spun to the left, narrowly missing a blinding laser shot from the Yuuzhan Veggie starfighter.

Tuvok braced himself against his panel and frowned deeply. Captain, our shields are barely holding. And we are detecting air leaks at at least five locations.

Any of importance? asked Janeway, crossing her fingers. Although the Voyager was stuffed to capacity, several of the outer wings of the ship had been evacuated in case of such emergencies.

Mostly, Captain, responded Tuvok. But were detecting problems with the oxygen in sick bay.

Just what we need, Janeway murmured as the ship spun and shook slightly to the left, then to the right, the unmistakable sound of a direct laser hit echoing through the halls.

There go six of the outer decks, reported Harry Kim, keeping an eye on the life support panel.

Is there any way I can help? asked a concerned voice from the entrance of the bridge. Shifting slightly to see who had spoken, Janeway shot a grim frown at Rogue, who was diligently and inconspicuously standing at the door, his face sunken with worry.

Although her heart advised against it, she shook her head. No thank you, Rogue. We have it under control.

His eyes widening, Rogue was unable to keep the panic from his voice. Sick bay... How about sick bay?

Sick bay has been mostly evacuated... reported Ensign Kim calmly. A few left inside, but completing the evacuation would put many more rescue patrol lives at stake-

As another bolt struck the ship, Kim gasped slightly as he read his panel. Sick bay... There is a leak in sick bay.

Theres nothing that can be done, said Janeway, sighing. Mounting a rescue operation would require us to continue circulating air there, and we cant take that risk... Cut off the-

Sir! shouted one of the Federation security guards from the hall. Sir, that area has a breach! Its dangerous in there! Sir!

But nothing could deter Rogue from slipping into the turbo lift and selecting sick bay as his destination. He had almost failed Jade once; she had almost died, almost before he could tell her how he felt about her.

He would not fail her again.

The second strike was more painful than the first, almost pushing Acky Jr. to the limits of his concentration, prompting him to fall to his knees. Feeling the energies around him dwindle, then return, he pushed back as hard as he could, glaring as Korn quickly flickered in and out of existence as a result of the blow.

Recovering more quickly than Acky Jr. could ever dream of doing, Korn allowed himself a sinister chuckle. Your blows are mere smites, you coward. And with that, he pushed back, his energy pushing upon Acky Jr.s aura, attempting to toss it from existence. Acky Jr. felt himself begin to fade away, his consciousness dwindle, but pushed back with all of his might, a lightning bolt exploding in the trench below with the sheer power of the push.

Another wimpy push, called Korn, barely fading as he adroitly absorbed the energy of the blow.

Acky Jr. winced, feeling his energy draining. Korn was proving much more powerful than he. One lucky strike...

Why did you betray us, Admiral? he asked almost randomly, utterly ignoring Korns ramblings.

Admiral Carrot lifted an eyebrow as he considered the question. I never betrayed anyone. I was never loyal to the Produce Republic, and I never will be.

Licking his lips, Korn pushed his energy toward Acky Jr., a stronger push than before. This time, Acky Jr. could feel himself slipping. His hands shaking, and his thoughts muddled with fatigue, he fought back with all of his might, narrowly missing fading into oblivion.

But you are still a traitor, said Acky Jr., pushing his energy toward Korn. You took an oath-

Perhaps, said Korn, repelling the energy and sending it right back to Acky Jr. as if playing a game of tennis. But it wont matter much, will it? Prepare to cease to be, Acky Jr. And with that, he pushed all of the energy he could toward Acky Jr as a blinding light filled the room, accompanied by claps of thunder and crackles of discharged electricity and static.

Acky Jr. could repel one attack at a time, but two in a row was too much. Trying to push back as much as he could, he felt his consciousness suddenly begin to fade. Glancing down at his hands, he saw them begin to blend into the image of the stone floor, static around him buzzing unrelentingly. Suddenly, he could no longer feel the Force; only the unmerciful power of Korns energy probing his mind, striking his heart, causing his spirit to slowly die to a point of no return...

And there was nothing he could do about it.

The ship shook ferociously as another laser bolt pounded upon the glowing hull, tossing Rogue onto the floor. Cursing to himself, Rogue leapt to his feet and continued his sprint toward the sick bay doors even as alarms blared, lights flashed, and vocal warnings announced that oxygen no longer would be delivered to the area.

After what seemed like ages, Rogue reached the door and took a deep breath of air. Then, he opened the door, plunging into a room of chaos and disorder, paper and equipment shattered and scattered all over the floor. As the door hissed closed behind him, he was keenly aware of a slight hissing sound; air had already started leaking from the ship. He only had moments to save Jade.

Holding his breath staunchly, Rogue ran to the cots, which were lined up neatly, the only remnant of order in the room. Five seemed occupied... and all five needed saving. Running to the first bed, Rogue snapped off the covers to reveal an old man panting heavily, obviously afflicted with a disease of the lungs.

If he was to be saved, Rogue would have to move quickly.

Lifting the man to his shoulder, he winced as he felt his shoulder crack and as his lungs cried for more oxygen. Stumbling to the second cot, he lifted the covers to find only a medical training mannequin. Rogue could feel his head spin with the lack of oxygen and even as he made a sharp, involuntary exhale and gasped for more air, black dots began to fill his vision. He didnt let this stop him; as the hiss of the air escaping grew louder and the laser impacts on the ship hull became more frequent, he crawled to the second cot where he found another man, this one substantially younger than the old man on his shoulder. Though unconscious, he seemed to be in good condition, his only injury a broken arm.

Rogue; we order you to leave the medical area now! No new oxygen will be circulated to the sick bay! blared a commanding voice from the intercom as Rogue approached the third cot. After looking up absentmindedly in response, he quickly looked down at the fourth cot, ignoring the voice even as it said, Rogue, leave now! There is nothing you can do! You are just going to kill yourself!

He didnt care.

Lifting up the blankets of the cot, hoping with all of his heart Jade would be underneath, he saw another patient, a middle aged woman in a System of the Hands uniform. Rogue felt her pulse quickly and realized with shock and despair that he was too late; she was dead.

He would rescue her anyway. She deserved a decent burial, and the Federation would probably just jettison her into space considering the concern its officers seemed to have for those in the sick bay.

The weight of four people on his back but the determination of a Gowwsian migratory bird in his heart, Rogue stumbled to the final cot and grabbed Jade around the waste, not even needing to look down to realize it was her. His pulse quickening with the adrenaline of success yet his breaths shallow and his vision dim, Rogue limped his way to the door, the weight of four on his weary body, just as debris flew across the room, widening the hull breach and threatening to throw him into the vacuum of space.

Captain, our shields have been decimated! shouted Harry Kim, his voice quivering with fear as laser bolts continued to pound the helpless hull of the Voyager.

Janeway could feel tears well up in her eyes as she turned to the view screen which plainly showed the Yuuzhan Veggie starfighter firing away, preparing to release its final rounds of fury against the escaping ships. She had faced desperate situations before, but never had she felt so helpless. So vulnerable.

And there was nothing she could do about it.

Colonel Korns energy attacks pushed Acky Jr. consistently, the Jedis form continuing to dim as the room around him buzzed with static and roared with thunder. Acky Jr. pushed back as hard as he could, trying to defend himself and recover with an edge, but to no avail. With each second, he could feel his concentration faltering, his edge slipping, his consciousness dimming, and his existence less real...

When suddenly, he felt the Force revitalize him, filling him with the energy of the planet as Korn let go, yelling as his accomplice screamed eerily. Acky Jr. leapt to his feet and glanced toward his adversaries to see Korns hooded companion fall into the trench and immediately become incinerated by the heated sparks below. A man of medium height but seemingly immense strength ran straight into Korn, a gesture met with a twist of his arm.

Parsley! yelped Korn, a quiver breaking the usual confidence in his voice. Youre- but.. How... Youre supposed to be dead!

Parsley, former admiral of the Produce Republic shifted his weight to bear down on Korns shoulders, forcing the evil colonel to bend his body toward the endless pit below. Death is relative, colonel. Cease your efforts here and allow Acky Jr. to carry out the restoration.

You traitor! Korn snarled as he swung his arm in a pitiful attempt to escape the struggle. I will never give in to your insanity!

Youre only a traitor if you were once loyal, Colonel, Parsley muttered. I was on your side forcibly. You used your powers to control my mind and my will. But all the while, I prepared myself to resist and break. Thats where your mistake lies, Colonel Korn. Once again, I implore you to leave.

Korn chuckled to himself sarcastically. You are a fool, Parsley. Even if you throw me over this divide, your cause will fail. Even now, my massive armies are destroying the final pockets of Weeper and Hand resistance and my starfighter is in the process of decimated those escaping. And all I have to do is say the password to activate my communications link and the starfighter shall release its ultimate weapon.

I see your logic, Colonel. Turning toward Acky Jr., all the while holding Korn tightly in his grasp, Parsley smiled and winked. Restore the universe, my friend. Make us proud... And if you get the chance, let the galaxy know I never betrayed them after all. With that, Admiral Parsley, former hero and supposed traitor of the Produce Republic, cupped his hand around Korns mouth, closed his eyes, and tossed himself into the pit, bringing the evil colonel with him. Acky Jr. stood in shock, watching the two vanish into the fog and lightning of the pit.

He didnt have much more time.

Extending his hands to touch the globe before him tenderly, Acky Jr. allowed himself to slip into the ebbs and flows of the Force in ways deeper than he had ever attempted. Bangs of lightning, heat from the planets building energy, and boiling rain from the ceiling tortured his body, but he only pushed deeper into the Force, concentrating on the energy of the planet, directing it to carry out the will of the Force.

From that point on, he knew he would succeed.

Rogue stumbled from sick bay and heard the doors slam shut behind him just as the alarm that indicated that sick bay was devoid of oxygen chirped. Setting each of the people he had rescued carefully upon the floor, he then hurried to the side of the old man and felt his pulse.

It was too late. The man was dead, his lungs and heart having failed under the pressures of a respiratory disease and the lack of oxygen in the doomed sick bay. Rogue looked at the man sadly, feeling his heart ache and finding his mind contemplating what he could have done to save the man.

Sighing to himself, Rogue approached the young man with the broken arm. He was recovering nicely, his breath and pulse stable and incoherent words forming on his blue lips. However, his arm was beginning to change colors, a sign that could only mean he would never regain control of it. Rogue murmured a prayer for quick recovery under his breath, then approached Jade, his love.

Seeing her in such a state terrified Rogue, sweat pouring down his face and tears forming in his eyes. He had almost lost her twice, but in the end he had been able to save her life. Looking at her resting so peacefully amid the chaos, he smiled and bent down gently, kissing her on the lips. But as soon as he lifted his head, he felt a shiver of rage tingle down his spine. He had almost lost his love. Two lives had been claimed, and one man had been crippled, all because of the cowardly procedures of the Federation.

Standing up and feeling the universe swirl around him in rage, Rogue made two promises to himself. First, he would never take his friends or relationships for granted. He would always treasure his friendships and he would never be afraid to reveal his feelings again.

His second promise was rooted so deeply in his rage, it could not be shaken. He would help rebuild the galaxy. The refusal of the Federation officers to act on behalf of those in sick bay had shown him how they really were. He vowed to help rebuild the Triad, the slice of the galaxy most damaged by the Federations abuses. He would fix the problems the Federation had caused, for himself, for Jade, for all who had died, and for the well being of every Producian.

Were down to the minimum! exclaimed Ensign Kim glumly, bracing himself as another tremor shook the spacecraft, tossing many officers to the ground as alarms blared, lights flickered, and the computer constantly reported ship failures.

Tsavong Lah watched, paralyzed, not quite sure how to react to the situation or what to do. When he had boarded the Voyager with Kettch Jr., he had assumed that the struggles were over, that he would be able to relax as the galaxy was restored. But instead, the hour the ship had spent in flight had been one of the most terrifying experiences in his life, not just because he feared death but because of what failure would mean for the universe at large.

Staring intently at the view port, filled with the image of an old Yuuzhan Veggie starfighter shifting dexterously through the clouds and winds of Gowwsy and constantly firing lasers at the crippled escaping ships, Lah remembered when he was one of those pilots, pursuing Producian ships and imaging the full triumph of the Yuuzhan Veggie cause. Obviously those times of deception were over, but sometimes Lah could feel himself back in his cockpit, ready to do anything his commander ordered.

Another laser hit the Voyager directly, prompting a sputter of alarms and the announcement that life support was failing. The officers on the bridge seemed panicked, helpless, yet not yet resigned to their fate.

Ready to do anything his commander ordered... Suddenly, Lah had an idea. Standing up quickly and turning to Janeway, he shouted, I want to speak with the pilot of that starfighter.

I suppose that would be our best chance, said Janeway tiredly. What do you plan to do?

Lah strolling his way in front of the communicator and flashed Janeway a grim smile. That pilot probably has no idea who the current leader of the Yuuzhan Veggies is. I intend to tell him.

After tapping a variety of buttons, Harry Kim nodded. Here we go.

The image of a Yuuzhan Veggie pilot, dressed in full uniform and covered with ceremonial tattoos, appeared on the screen. Speak, infidels, he said, his voice stern and thickly accented.

Lah took a deep breath as he prepared himself to speak the Yuuzhan Veggie dialect he had never expected to hear escape his lips. It was a hard thing to do, for misusing the dialects was utter blasphemy in the Yuuzhan Veggie religion. But glancing at Kettch Jr., his new friend, gave him renewed spirit.

Servant of the Masters, Lah said in the Yuuzhan Veggie language, the Dialect of the Supreme Commander rolling off his tongue as if he had been speaking that way for years. Stand down. You are firing upon an ally of the Yuuzhan Veggies.

The pilot squinted, then widened his eyes. I beg for forgiveness, Master! he stuttered, barely maintaining the Dialect of the Servant.

You deserve not to speak the Dialect of the Servant but the Dialect of the Slave! roared Lah. But I shall grant you pardon.

No! exclaimed the pilot in the Dialect of the Disgraced Slave, the most lowly dialect of the Yuuzhan Veggies still in use. I must suffer my punishment!

Suffer it only by returning to the home planet upon the restoration of the universe and presenting your crimes to the Grand Courts, ordered Lah. You have been misled. The Yuuzhan Veggie have befriended the Producians. Korn, Fred, and Gvorsa are in memories of pity and disgrace.

Yes, my Master! said the pilot as the communication ended.

Amid the applause and the hearty cheers that exploded throughout the room, Lah took a deep breath as he sank into his seat. Speaking the language of his past had been more painful than he could ever have imaged. He hoped to never speak those tones, never delve into those dialects, for the rest of his life.

Acky Jr. fell deeper and deeper into harmony with the Force, almost to the point of becoming apart of it. As he concentrated the planets massive energy toward restoring the universe, he had needed to draw even more strength from the Force, his physical strength sapped away from the confrontation with Korn and focusing upon bringing the universe back to its former form.

At last, the energy of Gowwsy focused into space, aided by the Force as it materialized those things that had been destroyed by the epic battle between Aaron and Shari. The universe expanded from that point quickly, freezing into place as if never having left Gowwsys side.

As the glimmer of a sun rise streaked through the upper windows of the room, Acky Jr. gave himself fully to the Force, reaching beyond the old boundaries and finding an infinite power at his control. Then, as the energy of Gowwsy completed its task and began to boil over, shaking the surface of the planet for one last time, the uncontrolled vim exploded, enveloping Gowwsy in its fury and dissolving it into oblivion.

As the universe snapped into motion, exactly as it had been when it had fallen, Acky Jr. pushed one more time to delve as deep as he could...

And Acky Jr. became one with the Force.
