I am one of those sad persons who read too many books at the same time. I even keep a little book where I list on which page I am on each book so that I would not forget...

The last book I read to the end was non-genre book, "Emperor Charles V 1500-1558" by Wim Blockmans. The last genre book I finished was Sacrifice by Traviss. And speaking of genre books, I have couple of old non-SW Zahn books still unfinished, plus Inferno. I have found it more and more difficult to finish these LotF books as I have grown more and more disillusioned with the plot. I read Betrayal in one day and it took week to finish Sacrifice...

The next genre book I will start reading is probably a Discworld book by Terry Pratchett. I took a handful of them, some that I have read before, from library last week, but have not started reading any of them yet. Perhaps "Maskerade" or "Interesting Times". Probably "Maskerade" as I really do not like Rincewind.

Lately, I've been getting into contemporary classic books, books that are quoted constantly by people who want to seem cool and sophisticated and books that often appear on high school reading lists, that have been written sometime within the 20th century. The Catcher in the Rye is a good example.

At the moment, I'm reading A Clockwork Orange, and I've also picked up Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. If I can find a copy, I'm interested in John Lydon's (Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols) autobiographical-type book Rotten, which I saw being carried around by a person at a camp I went to this summer.

Finished Inferno... up next is Star Trek: Resistance and Star Trek: Titan #1 - Taking Wing

In the middle of Genome: The Autobiography of a Species in 23 Chapters by Matt Ridley. Planning on reading Inferno next.

What series are these based on Acky? Are they newly published? I said in another thread I was going to buy Voyager: Homecoming today but went to two bookstores instead and neither store had it. I need a good series that's been around a few years so I can just buy them one after the other and keep reading.

Resistance is part of the TNG Relaunch - it's only the second post-Nemesis book to feature the Enterprise-E and there's 2 more coming, one at the end of September (Q&A) and one at the end of October (Before Dishonour).

Titan is the new series on Riker's ship. There's 3 books out thus far; I'm just behind.

Both are doing wonderful jobs of bringing on the Voyager characters since it's own relaunch hasn't accomplished much; Admiral Janeway's a pretty consistent figure in both ... Tuvok joins the crew of the Titan... and Seven (along with what seems to be a very large Janeway role) appear in Before Dishonour along with Spock.

You might try looking at the "A Time To..." series - there are, I think, 9 books that cover the year leading up to Star Trek: Nemesis for Picard and his crew. Hit and miss - I really enjoyed the first couple and don't even remember the finale although I know I supposedly read it...

just finished inferno, i'm currently in the middles of both Sellswords book 2: Promise of the Witch King By R.A. Salvatore and The Wheel of Time book 2: The Great Hunt By Robert Jordan and next i plan to read Sellswords book 3: Road of the Patriarch and/or Legend of Drizzt book 12: The Spine of the World, both by Salvatore

Finished Inferno, now reading Atheist Universe by David Mills.

After that, I'm thinking about The Borderlands of Science by Michael Shermer.

Right now I am reading a C S Lewis book, umm cant remember the title, its book one of his space triliogy, its ok but very overdescriptive. Up next is a bunch of junk for my demanding english prof. I really cant wait untill Orc King at the end of Sept.

I am reading "Ivory. A Legend of Past and Future"(2007, originally 1988) by the US scifi writer Mike Resnick. So far it feels like a great book.

oooh, update... I'm now onto Titan #2 - The Red King. Titan 1 was amazing... you all need to read that book if you want to see a really successful introduction of a bunch of brand new characters - I really got pulled in with one of them and I want to do a giant *shakes fist* at the authors for leaving me hanging...

A few books simultaneously:

Star Wars: Inferno (to be discussed later in the Inferno spoiler area)

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - yes, still reading it. Very close to the end, but my wife wanted to read it with me, and she's behind so I'm waiting for her to catch up before we finish it together.

A Team of Rivals: The Political Genious of Abraham Lincoln - likely my favorite book of the year. Reads like a story, not a history book, and it gives such an interesting look at the politics of the civil war era and how different (and similar) it is to today. You will understand why Lincoln (a man who only served one term as a Congressman) deserves to be known as the greatest president of the United States after reading this book - and I'm not even done with it yet.

Got a few lined up next too:

Well, I'm now reading Star Wars Death Star, I got it early, and also Destiny's Way. I'm in a NJO mood, and I have had the urge to read some of them again.
