I've recently seen Sam Peckinpah's "Cross of Iron" as I've mentioned on another thread, and to me it's the greatest war movie ever, despite it's age (made the same year as ANH) it was an amazing movie. It was an honest portrayal of war and spared the hollow gloriousness of "Saving Private Ryan" and showed war for what it was. It beat "Full Metal Jacket" and "Paths of Glory" as my favorites. So I'm wondering what is everybody elses' favorites.
