Okay, things are getting a little out of hand. It seems anymore that at once least a day myself or MrNomAnor are having to edit a post somewhere that includes Fury spoilers outside of the Fury Spoiler forum.
I'm not entirely sure what's going on or what's different. I can't point a finger at a single user, because it's not a single forumer that's doing it - there's a whole crop. Many of whom have been around NJOE for a book release or two. In other words, people who should know better. The spoiler policy has been the same for every LOTF book that has come out. For refresher purposes, I'll post it below:
I hate that it's having to come to this, but I'm going to be frank. The spoiler policy is in place for a reason - there are people that have not yet finished or attained copies of the book that want to partake in discussions on the boards without having the newest release ruined for them. I myself have had Fury since the day it was released but only finished it yesterday - and probably wouldn't have finished it had I not needed to move on with some NJOE work that required me delving into spoiler territory. I understand that some of you are gluttonous for spoilers - that's fine - but clearly YOU are unable to comprehend that not everyone is like that... that some people like to be surprised and not know everything when they go in. That's why NJOE has a spoiler policy - those of you that finish the book or gobble up everything that gets leaked, have ample discussion opportunities to keep yourselves active while still providing those same discussion opportunities for people who don't want the story ruined.
You are all here posting on these boards and by that right I'm frankly going to assume that you are then all competent enough to realize what you are posting and in what forums. (Perhaps that is an incorrect assumption given all the issues we've been having for Fury.) It does not take that much effort then to connect the fact that if you are posting something that is even BASED on material in Fury (or whatever the respective book is) that you shouldn't post it outside of the provided forum.
If that seems like too difficult of an option for you, then you need to make the conscious choice to ONLY post in the Fury Spoilers forum or to just walk away from NJOE for a month so as not to ruin the enjoyment and the experience of the book for others. And I'm going to be frank - if you don't start making those decisions, then I'm going to make it for you. And you won't like the decision I make.
Perhaps I should be more clear and use bolded and underlined text for extra emphasis and dramatic effect:
The next time I see spoilers of any sort posted outside the Fury Spoilers forum, that user is getting banned from this site until the spoiler ban has lifted.
I don't think I can be more clear than that. I don't care who the poster is - I'll ban MrNomAnor if I have to should he slip up. I don't care how innocent the spoiler is - if it relates to or is derived from Fury, you can be as secretive and dodgy as you want, but you'll find yourself with some time to think about why you weren't secretive enough. I don't care if it's your first time ever accidentally posting something - I don't like giving warnings, but I don't like playing the bad guy either. This is your warning.
To clog a couple of quick loopholes - note that it says "about December 27th." If the "Fury Spoilers" forum is still present on the main forum index, then spoiler protection is still active. I don't care if the Spoilers forum is still there on January 27th.
And despite the fluctuation of the date, just to prevent anyone from being "funny" and posting a horde of spoilers on December 26th, thinking they won't actually miss time away from the site, I'll make an executive decision/announcement now that if I have to go as far as to ban someone for repetitive breakings of the spoiler policy, that ban will last AT LEAST a week long, regardless of when the spoiler policy drops.
And while I've got all of your attentions, I figure I might as well get my money's worth from this soapbox. Keep in mind that this is a discussion board. We work - and have worked (ask the old-timers, they can back me up) - very hard to maintain a delicate balance of quality vs. quantity. If what you have to say doesn't add anything constructive to the thread, if it doesn't help to generate new discussion... then don't post. No one wants to see you post just to hear yourself type and frankly it's turning me off of joining in the discussion on many threads. There's no more additional thought required here than you should be putting into making your posts in the first place.
Don't mis-interpret this as anger at every single post made - I've seen some amazing and well-thought out posts created in the past couple of weeks. I'm just alarmed at the growing number of crap and pointless posts that are being made. Nor is this saying that off-topicness is bad, either - I've always tried to make clear that as long as the change of subject is natural and fluid from within the context of the original discussion, I don't have a problem with going completely off topic in a thread. Nor is the type of posting I'm referring to 100% completely bad - all types of posting have their place, in moderation.
The end all here, is to just think a little more before you post. Let's imagine a world where every time you click the "Add Post" or "Add Reply" button you have to pay me a dollar of whatever currency is appropriate. Are you really going to pay a dollar just to say "I agree" or "that looks cool"? Make your post mean something... make it worth it.
I always hate making threads like these because more often than not it makes people feel bad and sometimes singled out. I can't control what you feel or how you react to something. But understand that my point of this thread is not to do any of that - I don't want nor should I see apologizes or atonement; I want change. The past is in the past - don't tell me what you've done, show me how you can do differently.
This thread is officially closed for replies. If you wish to contest any points I've made, you are more than welcome to do so - opinions are always welcome. I've created an appropriate thread in QSF for any and all discussion on the above post.

As of this moment, spoiler protection across the NJOE boards is now in place for Fury and all related discussion.
All topics need to go into the appropriate "Fury Spoilers" forum. Spoilers and spoiler related discussion that is posted outside of the "Fury Spoilers" forum will be edited or deleted without warning. Users that repeatedly post spoilers will be temporarily banned from the forums in order to protect those who wish to remain spoiler free.
Please remember that even discussion about the future that is based upon Fury-related spoilers, needs to go into the "Fury Spoilers" forum.
This will last as long as the "Fury Spoiler" forum exists - likely until about a month after release, so around December 27th.
