So it might wind up at over a hundred or so pages. Very cool.

Oh it'll be over 100 pages... my "minimum" is 120 - using the mostly accurate 1 page = 1 minute, that becomes a 2 hour film. As I progress more
and more it's looking like it'll be closer to the 3 hour/ 180 page mark.
By blocking I merely meant that I went through and figured out (- "blocked" out), from my page long summary of act 2, how to break it down scene by scene to develop the story, etc. Basically, I've gone from about a paragraph that described the TV Movie to a 4 page outline and then now I'm taking small pieces of that outline and breaking it down into more specific ness. Think of it as my original paragraph was the back cover of a book; then my outline looked at it in terms of chapters, and now I'm breaking into down into the paragraphs that make up each chapter. |

There's a system to everything I guess. I always thought when someone wrote a book or a screenplay or something the thought of a way to start it, kept
writing into the middle and then figured out how to end it.
As I progress more and more it's looking like it'll be closer to the 3 hour/ 180 page mark.So it's at least a two part episode right? Part one is due Monday.

There's a system, yeah, but it varies. Sometimes I know the ending and have to build a story, sometimes I just have a single scene in mind that everything
gets built around. In terms of the TV Movie, it's a case of having an end point... a few goals that had to get covered (establishment of characters and the
universe, etc) and I had my two action pieces... and one day I looked at that and said... how the hell am I going to build a story around that?
I think I've outdone myself & am very pleased with what it's become. "At least a two part episode" - in terms of length, it's about a 4 part episode... but it's not written like an episode, it's not designed to be released in four parts. It's one cohesive story. You'll be in for a mammoth of a ride once it's done. |

I don't want to give away snippets because I like surprises, but allow me to officially announce the title of the TV Movie:
Star Trek: Voyager/The Crossing - Valkyrie

Alright gimme this much.....Valkyrie as in the Norse/Scandanavian God of those slain in battle or as in the name of a ship? Like the USS
Valkyrie? It's a Vong thing right?

The Vong don't show up until 1.01 - the actual Crossing premiere.
If you didn't have the 1.01/1.02 Strange New Worlds combination already released, you would come into this script and know that it's completely Star Trek based. But knowing who turns out to be what... you can read into a little bit of subtext in scenes. |

Yes, of course, this all takes place before the previously released story with the kids on Earth and such. Only stands to reason. Ok. That whole story is being
redone as well correct? Not to give it away but the whole Miral squadron, Klingon/Vong battle and all that? (I'm sorry if you don't want those kinds of
spoilers. I'm trying to be vague and I'll edit it if you want but it was released more than a month ago.)

I think you need to refresh your memory on what was CG and what was Crossing.
1.01/1.02 Strange New Worlds (where Ry reveals the Vong, his Jedi self, the Jedi kids, etc) will remain 90% the same. Now knowing the lead-up, there are a few things within those scripts that need tweaked or adjusted to make them flow better or make better stories. But when I started writing last January, I didn't want to do the Voyager finale or TV movie, I wanted to start at the reveal of the Jedi stuff, so I did. |

I have all of them in one folder and go back and read bits and pieces of both all the time. Your right I do jumble it all together in my head. I really like
Crossed Galaxies. I actually found that first and then this site from there. Anyway, I'll get it all straight when it's all released. Carry on with the
writing.

just remember that if you're thinking of a story with a huge federation fleet in the 24th century, it's CG. And if it's Voyager alone in the 21st
century, that's Crossing.
I don't help by having uncreative/too similar titles, but I hate come up with titles. |

Re-reading our prior posts from last night ack. You must think me quite simple that I always confuse the two stories. When I get bored I open the folder in my
documents and just scroll to a part I haven't read in a while. I guess I should seperate The Crossing from Crossed Galaxies into different folders.

I haven't updated or teased Valkyrie for a while...
I'm now writing Act 4. Currently sitting at 93 pages and 41 scenes. I've mapped out Act 4 and it'll end up being around 50 scenes, the structure may tweak a little bit as I've got a couple scenes that may get cut, either way we're ending up with more scenes than most episodes have pages. I'm still looking at the script to wrap up being about 140-150 pages... The number of scenes may nearly double when I get to act 5 because it's going to be a lot of cutting back and forth in the biggest action scene Crossing has ever seen (through the 2 part Voyager finale and the first four episodes of the series proper).... so appropriately: Perspective's a funny thing like that. We can look back and judge them for what they did to each other by standing on our pedestal of time and enlightened progress, but it's easy to forget how easy prejudices can come about. It doesn't take very long for hatred of something because it's new or different to become so ingrained in a mindset that change seems near impossible, and a better life so unattainable. |

Update:
57 scenes. 117 pages. Act 4 done. Getting ready to start Act 5. We are now in a situation where preventative action is required. |

I've been out of touch a little the past few weeks working on a project of my own. A fine diversion to kill time while you finish. An audio drama? That
phrase still just pops into my head from time to time.

Try reading the scripts and you'll answer your own question.

A fine diversion to kill time while you finish.Yeah there should have been a new paragraph there. Kinda changes the meaning when you run it together. I want to hear your audio drama. I am not working on one. |

The audio drama is one of many post-Valkyrie projects.
