Jedi Sypho Dyas |

Might be spelled wrong I dont know. I also dont know who the heck this is. Its annoying. I have heard you can see some jedi in the background in episode 1 and that is supposidly him. I have also heard that Duko is him. If Duko was Sypho Dyas how come the masters (Yoda and Mace) said that he was dead while also knowing that Duko wasent. If he is that random jedi in the backround in episode 1 what was his connection to Palpy? Was he also a sith? Was order 66 programed into the clones at his wishes? Why was this never explained during the movies??? It was a movie character and a loose end within the movies that never gets tied up. Anyone else have any further insight on this?

Master Sifo-Dyas was a High Council member in the years prior to the Battle of Naboo. He commissioned the clone army to be built after seeing a vision (or the equivalent), and then was murdered by Darth Tyrannous prior to informing the rest of the Council. The murder of his close friend was Dooku's final test to become a Sith Lord.

Dooku also kept Sifo-Dyas's body & used his blood for General Grevious. Dooku also gave Grevious Sifo-Dyas's lightsaber.
I wish they'd explain how the jedi knew Sifo-Dyas had been murdered what with his body disappearing, or did I just miss that somewhere? |

I would assume the same way that most Jedi notice other Jedi Masters being murdered. I doubt Dooku killed him on Myrkr, after all.

I always thought that Sifo-Dyas was a redundant character to make, especially since making him a Council Member fudges up the continuity of the Jedi Council around that time, which has all it's seats full and had previous history (seen in the 4-part comic, The Stark Hyperspace War) of losing an old member (Tyvokka and Micah Giiett) and gaining two new ones (Plo Koon and Ki-Adi Mundi).

He might have been on one of the secondary councils and I think they had rotating members. It was never specified what council; he was on.

The only lifetime Council members were Yoda and Mace Windu as of the RotE era. Anyone else is a "temporary" member, though that era generally used death as the means to determine the end of your term.

Are that would explain how they got through so many council members in such a short time period.

I actually thought that Sypho Dyas was a Kaminoan for some reason, and whenever I saw Yareal Poof, I thought that was sypho dyas. jusr recently i got the essential guide to the force that has a picture of dooku and sypho dyas, who is a human, maybe philippino or something similar. just thought that was kinda neat

Yarael Poof isn't a Kaminoan; he's a Quermian.

There's also a picture of Syfo-Dias over on wookiepedia. Again he's with Dooku, only he's dead and Dooku's about to take his blood to transfuse into Gen. Grevious. It's creepily cool.

Quote: I think you're thinking about Even Piell (being the only Council member that looks remotely like Yoda and Yaddle), a Lannik. I don't think we'll learn more about Yoda's species until Lucas gets Alzheimers or dies. Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. I remember back when AOTC first hit theaters, there was a lot of speculation that Sifo Dias was an alias for Sidious, similar to Louis Sypher in Angel Heart.
Sifo Dias = Si Dias = Sidious. Now, I just wish they'd explain a little bit of Dias' background period.
