Yes... this is corny to the max. There is also another gag-worthy comment he makes in this sequence, but I can't recall what it is.

I also think that that stupid Podracer (the really tiny one - can't recall his species) with a family is ridiculously corny. He's that really tiny alien, and he has a tiny alien family, complete with a baby wrapped in swaddling.

Then he goes and dies in the Podrace, and instead of feeling sorry for the mini-alien and his mini-family, I just felt... corny.

Anakin's "Sand is horrible and rough and I'm saying all this while I stare intently at your boobies" speech to Padme is also corny. They're supposed to be in love and he sounds like an ultra-horny fourteen year old with a massive boner.

More corny is that Padme bought it all without slapping him for oogling her lady assets.

The "I have a bad feeling about this" should be corny with a different character saying it in each one of the six films, but somehow I find it endearing.

I find it somewhat corny how Episode 1 tries to batter us over the head with the "Sidious = Palpatine" issue because every time Sidy shows up, they make a point of showing his chin exactly like it is in Return of the Jedi. Corny!

I also find it somewhat corny when the Ugnaughts play a game of "toss Threepio's head around" on poor Chewbacca.

For some indefinable reason, I find this corny. I don't think I should, but I do.

I've heard of a cleft chin but Iam McDiarmid looks like he has a little butt attatched to his face. There is no mistaking that chin under the hood. They beat you to death with it don't they

The butt that he has on his face actually comes in ROTS after he is all Sidious-fied by the Force lightning. He has these massive ass cheeks on his forehead!

I personally don't have a problem with his chin, but that forehead! Massive ass crack!

My problem with the chin came in that they were all, "Sidious is Palpatine and we're beating you over the head with ultra-obvious viual cues because you obviously aren't smart enough to figure it out otherwise!"

*Feels sad* I liked that. You could read it as overacting, but the way I took it was that Sidious felt insanely glad he could finally unleash his Sith-ness on a Jedi AND not try and hide it. What's more, I think he took some pleasure in whacking the Order's second-in-charge.
