Finn's mother and sister have been taken prisoner by the Vong, and his father was left behind with a delaying force to allow the refugees to escape. Now Finn finds himself at the new Jedi temple on Yavin 4, where he is to undergo training-but what he really wants is to get back into the fight! This series is set during the New Jedi Order, approximately twenty-five years after the Battle of Yavin. The Jedi, and the galaxy, are facing their first real threat since the Sith were defeated: an invasion of hostile warriors called the Yuuzhan Vong! The Yuuzhan Vong invasion has begun! I'm actually intrigued by this idea that the Galidfrafyianoodf h whatever family is going to split up: with the Jedi, stuck as refugees and YV prisoners. This should theoretically lead to some varied and multi-tiered storytelling.

Posts: 3167 05/08/09 5:56 AM	I had a nagging feeling that the basic premise of Invasion reminded me of something I've seen in TV and reading MrNomAnor's post above I just realized what: It reminds me of the 1980's The Winds of War and War and Remembrance TV series starring Robert Mitchum, which were based on Herman Wouk's books. A family divided by war, different members ending up as soldiers, refugees and some stayed back on home front. I though they were great series when I was a kid, not as much when I saw part of them again as an adult.

I am hoping since he is on Yavin that we get to see young tahiri in action as well as valin I was thinking more along the lines of Anakin Solo and perhaps at some point in this story, a pre-Serpindal Chewbacca. But I really do think one day one of the issues will end on a cliffhanger-ish note of how Finn or someone will walk into a NJO Book battle and Anakin Solo will walk out from this mass of dead YV bodies and smoke and bomb craters and stuff and the readers will be all "O..... M...... G" And then they'll make us wait until the next issue for more Anakin Solo.
