I do heart the comments, especially like "this has more living actors than episode 2"

That -shockingly- wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I do have to wonder if this came before the Star Wars Christmas Special - as it almost seems like
it would have been the inspiration for that.
You are greater than the Jedi of former days.
Because unlike the Knights of old, Jedi Luke Skywalker... You are not afraid of the dark. |

Makes you wonder if the in the later seasons of Donny and Marie the producers ever forced them to reenact the Luke Leia kissing scene

I wish I could remember the name of the actor who played "Tarkin" ... he shows up in ALL those old TV show stuff from the 60s, 70s and 80s

Peter Cushing played Tarkin - starred in a lot of hammer movies - even made a couple of Doctor Who movies as well.

I thought that was actually worthy my time watching.

Paul Lynde played Tarkin. Among other things he was famous for his answers on Hollywood Squares.

with Redd Foxx (famous as Fred Sanford in "Sanford and Son") as "Okie Fenoki", Kris Kristopherson ("Alice Doesn't Live Here
Anymore" and "Convoy" and just about every third movie made in the 70's) as Han Solo and yes, that was the riotously funny Paul Lynde (Uncle
Arthur from "Bewitched") as Tarkin. The disco Stormtroopers were...umm...
... the reason I won't watch that abomination again.

And don't forget "A Star is Born" where Kris drove the harley right off the front of the outdoor stage and the biker's owner jump off after it.

They actually sang really good. Star Wars was defined by the seventies, the long feathery hair, the weird but cool clothes.. I actually liked it and agree that
it's a sort of wholesomeness that has been lost. Shame, in those days, my brother told me, you'd get into a fistfight if you were a punk. That was it.
Goodwill and being nice were valued.
Now what's "cool" is catty, mean, backstabbing, disloyal people on all these crappy "reality" shows that teach kids to be lousy citizens and vile people. I don't think the song and dance shows ever corrupted anyone. Kids these days only seem to be interested in fame money and getting whatever they can, but not really being good people.
Now I know where the inspiration for that Leia doll came from. It looks like Marie in that cheesy skit....

Sorry, Uliah, I have been scarred by Rock of Love and that one with the ugly rapper, Snoop Dog, I actually blocked him and that "new York" trash...
They're filthy, sleazo women and crazy drug addict nutjobs. They shouldn't be rewarded for being stupid weak retards. Esp the two blonde idiots, Pratts, or whatever trashy show they slithered in from... |

BNo problem, Jedisuza, although this could make a good subject for Lakes of Alderaan forum.

Sorry for how harsh that came across. I just get so angry when the bad people get attention, instead of the good people that deserve it. Susan Boyle is the
only person this year that deserves attention, like she's gotten it. I'm tired of bad behavior being rewarded and having shallow fools with galaxy
sized egos, acting all pushy and rude because they are legends in their own (puny) minds..
I'll take it to the Lakes. |

I actually remember thet clip from my childhood (showing my age) , I don't quite enjoy it as much as I did when I was a kid. In the seventies if it was
Star Wars, Scooby-Doo, or Donny and Marie I watched it.
