Maybe like a Holonet version of a blogger? well in outcast we had wolem tser who was from the rebel dream/stand books in NJO who seemed impartial or slightly pro jedi. anyway im now 80 pages or so into the book and i have some thoughts which ight or might not change later. first is that daala seems to be playing this very politically and rather well. also it seemed to me that see didnt quite get on with that reporter who was outside the temple though that may have just been and act. on the kenth hammer situaation so far it just seems to me that people are frustrated but thats all. what could help him was if leia made a statement to the other masters and said that kenth is playing this quite well from a political stand point because as a former COS she would know how to play your enemys and she could do a lot to help kenth out form daala

No need to invent an entirely new character because she's already there!

At the being jysella is arriving at the teple and mentions how its not really the same and she preferred walking into the old temple with the statues of the asters guarding the entrances. Now IIRC the NJO have never every used the old temple before the NJO books they couldnt find it and during the war it was destroyed so what the hell is jysella doing walking in the old temple

"Leia stroked her short hair, dyed dark to dusguise its too-recognizable natural red." now in MF i believe Luceno mentioned that they had stopped dying her hair. So either they have restarted or someone somewhere didnt rememner the details of one of the most recent books.

I'm going with the idea that after Daala started throwing her weight around, Han and Leia exchanged wary look of, "Well, before Admiral Daalaiance Firecrotch starts looking our way, better do something about Allana." That's the way I wil choose to interpret it. As for Jysella, I'm just going to assume they made a typo and she is thinking of the Ossus academy as opposed to the Old Jedi Order Coruscant temple. You can argue with me that they just flat out made a booboo and WERE indeed referring to the old Jedi Order Coruscant temple, but I will choose to believe Jysella was actually thinking of Ossus and because she was all worried about Valin and stuff she wasn't thinking straight. And no matter what any of you say, I'm allowed to have my beliefs and you can't take them from me no you can't you can't you can't you can't. lol.

Posts: 5405 07/01/09 9:51 AM	In regards to Allana and people making the connection that she's Jacen's daughter, I think you all are forgetting one thing. We the readers know she's Jacen's daughter, but why would anyone else even suspect that in the SW universe? Luke and the Jedi didn't even know TK and Jacen had a love relationship, and if they didn't suspect it why would anyone else? Only Mara came the closest and she didn't even get a hint that it was TK. Jacen was so good at hiding it, Lumiya only found out by following Jacen to Hapes, and then it was by using the Force. That's not something your average being is going to sense. Allana has TK's coloring; fair skin, gray eyes and red hair. Leia recognized Jacen in Allana's expressions and her lively intelligence, but she would. Her memories of Jacen as a young child are in her heart. But not even Han recognized that when they rescued Allana in Fury. Now Allana's hair is dyed black; not dark brown like her father's. Fair skin, gray eyes and black hair is not the Solo coloring. People aren't suspecting a blood connection and they aren't going to see one.

Posts: 3314 07/02/09 8:59 AM	Not just money, I think, as hardcovers are seen as more valuable (in the non-commercial sense of the word) literature than paperbacks, probably even in the tie-in "slum" inside the sci-fi ghetto. I have no hard numbers to back this up, but it feels to me like hardcovers overall would be becoming more common in sci-fi and tie-ins, even among publishers who rarely did hardcovers before. Posts: 2361 07/02/09 9:12 AM	I kind of got the impression that the industry 'as a whole' was moving more towards the TPB as a standard (the larger sized softcovers - like most of The Clone Wars books). It's the size of a hardcover, but not quite as pricey. Consumer wins (cheaper than hardcover) and pulisher wins (more expensice than MMP softcover). I've got nothing to back that up either though, just knowledge that YA books are frequently coming out that way, and more and more I'm seeing adult novels use this format as well. But, we're getting well off topic. As both Rogue and I suggest, there may be many reasons Del Rey decided to go with all Hardcovers this time. Complaints from fans that the LotF series didn't match, sales of LotF proved good enough to warrant trying to make all of FotJ Hardcovers, a lack of other material for Del Rey to make into hardcovers (I believe they have a contract which states how many hardcovers they're supposed to produce)... could be any, all, some or none of these things. You are greater than the Jedi of former days. Because unlike the Knights of old, Jedi Luke Skywalker... You are not afraid of the dark.

Posts: 3315 07/02/09 9:22 AM	Going little longer off-topic, I think it's some new publishers that are trying TPBs as their standard. And perhaps it works, PYR seems to be doing well, when Solaris which does paperbacks, gets to be sold if it survives at all. But I see far more hardcovers from publishers like DAW, which seem to be trying to move up to become more respectable publishing houses. So, whether it's TPBs or hardcovers, it's not just Del Rey doing these things, instead DR is only trying to do the same as other publishers. Last Edited By: Rouge77 07/02/09 9:27 AM. Edited 2 times.

Like, compare this year to, say, 2002. All we've had so far this year are: the Coruscant Nights book, one Clone Wars book, and two FotJ books. We'll have 5 books in 8 months, when Abyss hits. That just seems like... a paltry amount.

Since about 1994, the average is about six to eight books a year, with only 1996 and 2008 having nine or more. Next year looks like it'll be a record year too, with ten, maybe eleven* books if the TOR book comes out then too.
