Very very vague, but nifty.
Lots of new stuff going on. But no way to piece anything together

I found it intriguing when Sam was telling his father to leave him...it looked like they were being attacked.

A new trailer, detailing the plot, has come out on the movie website. It looks really good- glad to see a lot of familiar faces.

I'm not sure who that Decepticon is thats in Egypt (?) and TOTALLY SUCKING UP ALL THAT SAND INTO A WHIRLPOOL TORNADO THINGY BUT I LOVE HIM.
Gratuitous shots of Megan Fox in leather and/or straddling a motorbike is always welcome and there is even a Dramatic Pause when she's all claspy hands and crying a single tear. Optimus Prime: Fate rarely calls on us in a moment of our choosing. Add all this together and you get EPIC WIN and KEWLNESS. I also appreciate that Sam's parents are back and still bringing the funny. Kudos. |

This movie just looks so good. And it appears everyone is back except John Voight as the Secretary of State...which I find a little weird.

Well, I for one am glad. John Voight was very stereotypical and I just don't like him. Except in Zoolander. It could just be that he wasn't in
the trailer.

No, he hasn't been credited as appearing in the movie. And I like him, he seems real to me when I see him performing. And I would think a movie featuring
the military would have a figure like him in it, but besides this one little thing this movie looks amazing. Just pure amazing.

I thought I would pop in with a quick Transformer review. As I knew it would, it got smashed by critics. Whatever. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Could it have been
shorter? Oh yes. That is one of my few gripes. The love story aspect was slightly awkward but then I mentally compared it with ROTS and I realized it was not
half as cringe worthy as thise scenes so it passed in my book.
While the first movie was better (most sequals dont live up to the first movie anyway minus some exceptions) it was defintiely not a flop. The parents prolly had some of the funniest scenes and the action and graphics were effing amazing. I could pick the movie apart more. I guess if it was my job to be a debbie downer of an asshole I would too but I went in just looking for some good action fun. And guess what? That is exactly what I got. I did not think I was going to see oscar winning performances and it was just fine. I feel sort of bad for any action/hero movie that has proceeded to come out post Dark Knight. That movie set a precedent. One that most other movies of this genre will not be able to match. Yes DK's storyline was the best and made you think and twisted your insides but the circumstances surrounding the movie is what propelled it into the stratosphere and that is what people, most notable critics, expect from all the movies in that genre now. Raising the bar and keeping it high is one thing but having unrealistic expecations is another. All in all transformers was enjoyable. I recommend everyone see it once in the movie theatre to fully enjoy the graphics but if you feel the need to see it in matinee, go for it. Just dont miss it |

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, and I, personally, liked it better than the first. The movie itself seemed to have a slightly different feel to it, and was
much more driven by the history of the Transformers as opposed to the military action against them. Jon Voight's character was cut, as were the two
analyists, which was sad. That, and a little "Destiny Scene" between Sam and some Transformers were the only gripes I had with the movie, but other
than that it was hilarious, action packed, and truly compelling.
The acting this time around was very strong on all fronts. Shia Labeouf and Megan Fox did extremely well and have great chemistry, and the new character Leo was very funny as well, along with his relationship with former Special Agent Simmons. Optimus Prime and Bumblebee both kicked some Transformers ass in this movie, and I almost felt bad for Megatron as he got his ass handed to him. Furthermore, the Witwicky Parents were just hilarious, as well as the Transformers twins and Jetfire. Agent Lennox and his team were a lot more interesting this time around, and had more relevence to the plot. Overall, I liked the feel of this movie better than the first. I liked almost everything about it.

I enjoyed it. I liked the history aspect especially, with the idea of humanity and the Transformers having a shared history being very interesting. I sort of
wish they could have given some more screen time to that aspect. Sorry Zinnos, but I found big chunks of the parents scenes to be unnecessary. I mean, I
understand why the parents needed to be in the movie and all, I just wish they could have been toned down a little. I mean come on, pot brownies? Really?
The love story aspect was slightly awkward but then I mentally compared it with ROTS and I realized it was not half as cringe worthy as thise scenes so it passed in my book. The only times I cringed were when the Flavor Flav twins were talking, gold teeth and all. Ugh. I'm deeply shocked that one didn't walk onto the screen with a Viking hat on. I went in just looking for some good action fun. And guess what? That is exactly what I got. I did not think I was going to see oscar winning performances and it was just fine. This was essentially my feeling as well. Although I definitely enjoy my movies with a little philosophy or deeper issues underneath them, there is a time and a place for just a good old fashioned popcorn movie and Transformers absolutely delivered on that. Optimus Prime and Bumblebee both kicked some Transformers ass in this movie, and I almost felt bad for Megatron as he got his ass handed to him.The Optimus v. all the 'frickin Decepticons fight in the forest was hands down the best action sequence in either movie. Up until the abrupt ending, I was thinking, "Well damn, why didn't he just kick everyone's ass last time?"

The movie was really great! Didn't quite live up to my expectations, which were pretty large going in, but I think that's because I had no
expectations for the first one and was blown away by it's awesomeness. The story for this one was pretty dumb, but it had hands-down the best special
effects I've ever seen in a movie.

I found some aspects of the story a little...far out there but I assumed that it was because it was relating to the original Transformers series. And I was the
same way- I had no expectations for the 1st movie either and was blown away.

I didn't even plan on seeing this, but I'm glad I did. I was surprised, it was a lot better than I was expecting. The big battle scene in Egypt really
made my day. It was just awesome. I didn't mind the length of the film out all. Some of the fight and transformation scenes were too overly complex or too
fast to even follow, but luckily there were a lot of scenes that you could follow. Definitely worth seeing on the big screen.

From the moment this movie opened with 17,000 BCE humans going up against old school Transformers, this sequel had me hooked. I think it is safe to say that
the first film was somewhat of a sleep hit; I don't think the world knew quite what to expect from a movie based on a bunch of '80s robots that
transform into vehicles and appliances.
So how does Michael Bay top the first film? For starters, he adds way more explosions, gratuitous Megan Fox straddling motorbikes, more Transformers, Transformers that are racial caricatures, and he makes the Witwicky parents even more hilarious. Oh, and he totally has Aussie Isabel Lucas play a lady who is... more than meets the eye, and has Tony Todd voice the Emperor Palpatine Fallen to Hugo Weaving's Megatron Darth Vader. Colour me pwzzzned with awesomeness. (Though I can do without gigantic Decepticon testicles next time thanks; first film had Autobots whizzing on the lawn, this has Decepticon balls, I guess film 3 will have some Transformer doing a poo) Thumbs up for references to President Obama (I guess that means the twinkie loving prez in the first film was George Dubya) and swine flu, and for the Epic Battle In The Forest, thumbs a little down that The Fallen got taken in like two punches. That was a little anti-climactic. I actually liked the twins even if they were hideously undisguised racial stereotypes. They even had gold teeth!! LULZ. I can see how one may find them offensive, but I think it was all in good fun and they certainly got laughs in my session. Thumbs up for bringing in the female Autobots, and I actually fangasmed a little that The Fallen set up shop on Titan (or whatever moon of Saturn it was). And oh the glorious Megatron/Starscream banter/insults. I'm in Heaven! And I totally dug Soundwave. At least I think it was Soundwave. The one posing as a satellite. Thumbs way up to Megan Fox foxxxxiness, and thumbs up that Shia LaBeouf still entertains. Thumbs down to the trashing of the Pyramids. MNA does not appreciate the wanton destruction of his favourite world landmark. All in all, awesome film, bring on number 3. |
