The Clone Wars: What Do You Think? |

So, the series of Star Wars: The Clone Wars has come to an end and a new one is in the works. This happened a while ago, yea, but I've still got to ask.
Has anyone been following the animated series? If so, what do you think of it?

I enjoyed the movie and the first handful of episodes, found that it got extremely corny and repetitive so I skipped most of the middle, and came back in the
last handful of episodes and was shocked at how much better the quality was. As long as they continue to move away from simply rehashing the same tired
villains over and over, and use newer ones like Ziro and Cad Bane, I think it's got a chance to really hit its stride in season two. The number of
background Jedi thrust into the spotlight alone has been pretty awesome.

Just like any series, there were hits and misses. I did find myself enjoying it more often than not.
But I hate the job they do on Obi-Wan. The voice actor they use for him use doesn't have the necessary range of inflection to do the character justuce.

I agree with Boba. They made Jar-Jar and the Battle Droids too goofy (Even if this was for little kids), but if they can use Cad Bane correctly, he would make
the series worth watching.
Jaina realized with a cold shudder that Jacen had not failed. He had sacrificed everything-his name, his family, his reputation, his life- to unite the
galaxy. And now here Jaina was, watching the birth of a galaxywide league of worlds dedicated to working together in peace. Had Jacen won after all?

I actually didn't mind the battle droid or Jar-Jar humor. What I found most annoying was when they would use the real Jar-Jar's voice for one episode,
and then a TERRIBLE fill-in for another. Cringe-worthy stuff, right there.

^ That WAS EXTREMELY annoying!
So for the most part I truly enjoyed it. It took a while for me to get used to the caricatures but after a while they really grow on you! And it was great how well-paced and action-packed everything was. It made watching the series that much more like an authentic, engaging Star Wars experience. |

I love the new Clone Wars series. I never watched the old one, nor do I have the baggage of comics, novels, or expectations. My 5-year-old son loves The
Clone Wars too. And interestingly, just like when I was a kid and everyone liked Darth Vader (and wanted to dress as him for Halloween) - my son loves General
Grevious.
But I'm really looking forward to watching Season 2 with my son, as he's only catching up right now on Season 1 (whereas I watched them when they came out).

I'm mixed on the series. Some of the episodes like Rookies and final episode with Cad Bane were really good. But a lot of the time I find myself starting
to get into it only to be put off by kiddie stuff they throw in. Some of the episodes also feel too shallow and strive too hard to please the kiddies. Given it
is a cartoon and it is geared for kids and adults, but that doesn't mean I still can't gripe. The way they bounce between trying to please both age
groups tears me apart. I like it, and I'm disappointed, and the two bounce back in forth, sometimes within the same episode. My only other gripe would be
the big build up for the Ryloth episodes that completely spoiled every awesome moment it had to offer. They should have never revealed so many scenes for the
episodes when they're so short to begin with.
All that said, I hope they don't kill off Bane or waste him. He has a lot of potential to be an awesome bounty hunter character.

I dont watch all of the episodes due time but the ones I have seen are pretty good. Defintiely a bit underated IMO although I wouldn't count it as my all
time favorite. It is something every SW fan should check out. I was quite surprised at how much I did enjoy it once I plopped myself down and just watched it
without my preconceived notions stadning in the way

My only complaint with it is that it continually shows Anakin Skywalker as the patient teacher to his Padawan and portrays him as the standard "always
does the right thing" Jedi. Every so often they give him a dark moment or he disobeys an order but it is always for the greater good or for some noble
reason in the end. He becomes Darth Vader. It didn't happen overnight. One would think that Uncle Palpy was playing his emotions pretty good at this point.
