That's tremendous, Corax! That must have been so neat to watch. But it's also a credit to you and the time and effort you put into your kids.
Things like that don't just magically happen.
I'm glad wpm counts aren't part of the criteria for kids to pass in public school up here. My youngest would bomb. She'd a million times rather
be out with a basketball or leaping through the forest behind us with her lightsaber. Still, she's solid academically, speaks French with the best of
'em, and lives by her wits and common sense. Last June the kids brought home their end-of-year report cards. Kiddo ripped her envelope open, started
scrutinizing the papers .... silence ... silence ... and then put her hand on her hip, sighed and said "Well, I guess I wasn't fooling anybody. I
suppose I'll actually have to learn to read next year."
She dropped the report card on the table and ran outside to join up with friends. I picked up the papers and looked at them. Nearly straight As. Except
for English. That was a C+.
