Any bets on how long it takes for the suits at Fox to remember that they are all enormous assholes and cancel it?

Hopefully a few years; Firefly's short run depressed me and I have high hopes for this one. As does my wife, who loves Buffy as much as I do (though she
doesn't care for Firefly <_<).
When the world needs him, the warrior Fet'antilles will rise again from the grave.

I have hopes for this as well, I just don't want to get attached to the show and have Fox decide to cancel it.

Well the pilot was...okay. Not mind blowing by any means, but pretty good for a pilot. Not surprisingly (considering the time slot 'o death), the ratings
sucked though.
According to Mr. Whedon himself, the show doesn't really hit its stride until later in the season. Let's hope it makes it that far. |

depends on who you talk to some articles say it flopped other say it did great considering. Plus it laid the smackdown on everyone on Hulu and iTunes.

I was a tad worried after the series premiere that they wouldn't allow Joss the time he needed to allow this series to grow, but it looks like FOX is
showing him all the faith in the world...no pun intended. The first episode had me intrigued, but, again, I was worried that it would be pulled because not
enough was revealed...just enough to tease. Happily that was enough for FOX and now we are learning more and more about the Dollhouse. What I wonder is: Who
is the insider leaking out all this information about the Dollhouse and what's their angle?

I've got to admit, I was a little unsure if Alan Tudyk could play a serious, scary bad guy.
Man, was I wrong. He just plain kicked ass as Alpha.

Well, well, well, look at that:
In an underdog comeback that blows away NBC's will-they-or-won't-they hand-wringing over "Chuck" (psst, they almost certainly will), sources say Fox is -- and this could change before Monday's upfront presentation -- leaning toward bringing back Joss Whedon's "Dollhouse" next fall.I might have to take back the enormous assholes comment now.
Edit: Okay, it's official. Numfar! Do the dance of joy!

Anyone seen "Epitaph One" yet? A couple people I know have seen it, and have expressed that this is what DOLLHOUSE is supposed to be; it's set
during a post-apocalyptic time period, where non-Dolls are being hunted and the human race is all but extinct. Sounds thoroughly creepy. It's supposed to
come with the Dollhouse s1 box set, and was an episode that was supposed to be part of s1, but wasn't aired on TV...

Yeah, Fox ordered twelve episodes originally and then counted the unaired pilot as the first -- Epitaph One just happened to be the thirteenth episode produced
and given Dollhouse's less than stellar ratings, they decided not to extend the deal for one more episode.
I am very much looking forward to seeing it on the box set through. I've heard nothing but good things about it. From what I've read, they set it so far apart from the regular storyline because they figured that they would get canceled anyway, so why the hell not? In case anyone else is interested, Joss Whedon has revealed that Alexis Denisof and Jamie Barber will be guest starring next season. |

I saw EPITAPH ONE finally, and it's so... sick and twisted and yet beautiful at the same time. Joss Whedon is a genius. I am going to have nightmares for
days to come, I swear, after watching this -- especially because it's all possible. I really hope they continue with a sequel to this story in s2.

Anyone know what time the premiere is on the west coast? Is it 8pm or 9?

Due to all the good press on this show, I've decided to borrow it from my library - it'll probably be awhile before it comes in, but when it does,
I'll let you know what I think. Meantime, I guess I'll start DVRing the new episodes, in case I decide I really like the show.
You are greater than the Jedi of former days.
Because unlike the Knights of old, Jedi Luke Skywalker... You are not afraid of the dark. |

Trust me, I think you'll be surprised. It's a really great show. If you wanna get a head start, I suggest Megavideo.com. Just search Dollhouse and I
think they still have every episode of s1 available, including the unaired pilot and the unaired finale, Epitaph One (which is the best episode, IMO)
The only thing that sucks about Megavideo is that you can only watch 72 min worth of video (adds up to nearly 2 full episodes usually) before it makes you wait 54 min to start again if you're not a member of the site (costs a few bucks to sign up). In the meantime, there are dozens of other websites that'll have s1 available in case you want to try and catch up for the finale tonight. But watching the box set might be just as good. Oh, and I checked TVGuide.com -- premiere is on at 9pm on the west coast.
