White Eyes - hypothesis |

http://starwars.wikia.com.../Image:New_sith_order.jpg I just wanted to state that those
two white eyes really stand out in this photo. It may not mean much, but since the New Encyclopedia says White Eyes was the head of the Sith at that time, I
thought this might be interesting.

Hmm..... I never did notice it in that picture but the eyes do stand out quite alot. Wonder if it's a hint.

I hope it is only so that A'Sharad Hett could finally cross over to the novels.

I think I will be a little disappointed if white eyes turns out to just be hett. Don't get me wrong, I love that hett created the one sith but I hope that
white eyes turns out to be someone else; whether a new character or someone we already know. Just to keep the scent off the one sith since they technically did
not announce their presence to the galaxy until the sith-imperial war.

I couldn't imagine Hett being in novels without using his name. That would just be horribly lazy, and insulting to the readers. Not to mention, just
putting his name on the DP would guarantee sales.

I can see it being Krayt- I really can. But besides me wanting A'Sharad to appear in a novel, I agree that it would be much more interesting if it was
someone else.

If this theory is true (Hett = White Eyes) then this is rather silly for two reasons.
1. In Inferno, White Eyes specifically refers to another individual not present in the room as "our Master." Now, unless he has personal dissasociative issues, I highly doubt he is referring to himself. 2. Legacy made a huge deal about teasing readers for fourteen odd issues as to the major question of "Who is Darth Krayt?" If Del Rey does the same thing with White Eyes (which they ARE already doing) only to have White Eyes turn out to be Hett AS WELL, I would stop reading. And I mean that. It would be the cop-out to end all cop-outs. Jeskan, I do thank you for taking the time for a White Eyes is... theory thread, but I cannot and will not subscribe to it. |

Um... I'm looking in Nom's post for a word or three that I knew would be there, and it's not at all.

I have to say, I don't believe this personally. I believe White Eyes is one of Krayt's early acolytes. However, I just thought it'd be something
interesting to point out.

I subscribe to Nom's theory that White Eyes = Lord Cronal/Blackhole. I give you exhibit A (look about mid-way down the page for a holographic picture
labeled 'blackhole'): http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Cronal
That said, this wiki entry seems to indicate Cronal becomes Shadowspawn. I thought that had been thrown away by the powers that be. Ah well, I suppose what I need is to read Shadows of Mindor. |

For Iurus:
Cronal is everyone. Cronal's Imperial Intelligence codename was, as we all know, Blackhole. We can assume that his Sith name is Shadowspawn. Yet after Mindor, when from what we know, all the bad guys apparently die, (or the good guys THINK they are all dead), Cronal goes underground and re-emerges with a new Sith identity of White Eyes. Fool Luke Skywalker once, but you can't fool him twice, so a name change is in order for Cronal. I mean seriously, the guy has GLOWING WHITE EYES. Which is exactly how a lot of people identified Cronal. He can read that datachip of Alema's through the Force. Alema feels a physical chill run down her spine when White Eyes addresses her even though the room temperature does not change. Hello, this all SCREAMS Cronal. Its exactly what he did in the comics. People in his presence felt chills even though the temperature remained constant. And one of his proficencies in the Force was with technology. Seriously. That is all. |

I'm not buying the Cronal option as the truth of the matter, just as a possibility - a strong one, I admit. Yet, I am not all that sure that it has even
been officially decided who White Eyes is. Him being Cronal is a possibility, which the text itself seems to support, but not to such an extent that it would
become a significant problem if they eventually don't want to take that road, but instead to make White Eyes a totally new character, A'Sharad Hett,
somebody else or leave him to be just White Eyes.

I knew about the tech, Nom, but the rest is new to me. I still don't have as many older comics as I'd
like.

I doubt it, its probably coincidence and for it to really have weight you'd have to check the dates for it to see what was published first Inferno or
Legacy
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most
frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people don't feel insecure around
you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give
other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. Mariane Williamson

Or the Killik painting in Tatooine Ghost? Seems to make sense to me that if they decided to reuse this character in Legacy of the Force/Fate of the Jedi, that it'd be the perfect opportunity for them to go flesh out the character in something like Mindor to take care of establishing all the necessary background details and not have to put it in the novel themselves and bring him back into the spotlight.

That was my thought exactly. I believe this is Del Rey's Master Plan when it comes to introducing Mega-Villains. Especially ones that have prior history
with the heroes, or in the EU.

Does that mean Darth Krayt will get a novel during the GCW?

It'd certainly tie-in with DelRey's ideas of using these middle novels to fill in / prep stories in the Legacy of the Force era of things... remember Rogue Planet introducing Vergere and Zonama Sekot? Or the Killik painting in Tatooine Ghost?I've never actually thought about that but it certainly seems to make sense. And I'm not sure it's too terrible of an idea either. As you said, it allows them to get backstory out of the way in a much better method of storytelling ("live" the story instead of just hearing a recounting of it) although it does mean that you need to make sure you read more books.... Not that I'm complaining though. You know, its kind of sad that if I were to mention the discussions that go on here to somebody in the real world, they would call me crazy as well as
obsessive and a complete geek/nerd/whatever. Then I come here and discover that I'm way out of my league. Especially when people recall details that I
don't even remember....

We could also use this hypothesis (Acky's not the original one) to bank on Deathtroopers somehow utilising Cronal. The title alone screams his
style of genetic manipulation-y variant stormtrooper horror stuff that Cronal is already recognised for.
