I don't think Ashoka will be a good part of the movie....she already looks like a character that annoys me. I know I have no valid reasons why....just an
inkling.

No, that is not it. I've been like this with characters on TV shows and movies and learned to love their character.

For me, a movie needs to have good character development as well as believable development. In the trailers, I keep seeing snap shots of Ashoka in battle and
she seems to be afraid or fearful. If part of the story is devoted to her overcoming that fear, I think it has very good potential.
You know, its kind of sad that if I were to mention the discussions that go on here to somebody in the real world, they would call me crazy as well as
obsessive and a complete geek/nerd/whatever. Then I come here and discover that I'm way out of my league. Especially when people recall details that I
don't even remember....

I agree...but I also see Ashoka as being the new hero, and for some irrational reason that bothers me.

I'm not going to jump into any conclusions until I see the film and read the novel. As much as I like the idea of Ashoka, I think she's a little...
misplaced in this particular period.

Maybe she could have been Ben's future apprentice. Would have made more sense.

This is also the Clone Wars Animated TV show, we likely wont get to much character development because of that.

I think we can still get character development, I don't see why not.

With 2 or more comic series, two runs of novels each spanning the entire war (probably), 2 cartoon series, and 3 movies, Clone Wars coverage better be so good
that we know everything that happened to everyone everywhere every day.

Anyone going to read the novel and likely NOT see the movie? I have to say, this is a very real possibility for me. My kids aren't old enough for me to
take to see this movie, and it's not a movie I'm likely to go to on my own. I 'might' catch this when it's on TV - but I already have the
book on reserve from the library. It's far more likely I'll have read this book way before I ever see the movie.
I'm actually quite curious to see how this works out for me. Will the movie live up to people's expectations? Will the novel be more enjoyable without having seen the film? Guess I'll know soon. |

I can't fathom a Star Wars movie coming out, and me not watching it in theatres. My house would blow up, or something.

I saw George Lucas and the director of The Clone Wars in an interview and they said they choose Ashoka because they wanted a girl Jedi as the hero figure. They both felt that Star WArs was heavy on boy Jedi and needed more girl Jedi heros. So I think your right Ashoka is definetly going to be a big focus in the movie. Also she represents the age group for the target of the movie. |

yeah she'll be the new "hero" of the series and get some good coverage but in the end we know what happens to her.

No, I'd rather they not. We already have so many Jedi surviving the Purge...when there was only supposed to be Obi-Wan and Yoda.
