You should think about asking for a pony, if you're going to be dreaming anyway.

Quote:Yeah but how cool would that be? Completely! Have those Alien dudes that looked like burn victims....you know the genetically enhanced time travel dealies there, back at Kirk's academy days, which would be Archer's future and Picard's past ( not that they'd have to be in it) all scrambling to save the timeline. Oh and I want a pony too. |

Good news purists...
reports are coming out from Toy Fair Germany - no pictures - that there are over 50 action figures that are going to be released, and that the uniforms look almost EXACTLY the same as the 60s versions. I think a large percentage of the world has breathed a gigantic sigh of relief today. Pictures of the actual actors in costumes are coming "very soon" according to the writers...

I can only find two benefits...
-Writers Strike is over, JJ has more time to do reshoots and fix things and make adjustments for all those things that he's come up with on set and can't use as being a member of the WGA. Also allows for a more polished film. -More time to try to fit in Shatner. But if I were the production team, I'd be ever-so-pissed at Paramount after they already started their marketing viral push with the Cloverfield Trailer stating Christmas 08.

Any chance of people showing up on Christmas and getting rebuked?
By the way, I suggest a change to the thread name now. For clarity's sake. Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me. |

Under the terms of my prenuptial agreement it was the perfect excuse to get out of Christmas dinner with my in-laws. Now that's all shot to Hell.

TrekMovie.com has confirmed that the film starts in the post Star Trek Nemesis timeframe. Oooh, my... the possibilities. Now the question becomes, how much does JJ want to give everyone a fangasm? Are we going to see post-Nemesis Starfleet? Could we possibly see something like... oh, I dunno... Riker & the Titan? (Jonathan Frakes visited the set, after all... i think I'm getting my hopes up) And this all but confirms that we'll *see* elder-Spock time-traveling back to the past... what mechanism gets used this time? (Less than a year now!... I think I've said that once in this thread already though...)

That is how I shall choose to look at the situation anyways.

Finally, something trickles out. Small spoilers, but nothing major abound in the following report from AICN:
Harry has seen some of JJ Abrams' STAR TREK!!! Certainly got me all excited.

They should go back in time and save Kirk from that terrible death in Generations.

Every time I think I figure out how to Bring back Kirk, I hit a snag in the plan.
We could go to the Nexus because as Guinan says, a part of you will always remain there. But the physical part of Kirk already left, and you can't just keep pulling people out of the Nexus over and over... you'd end up with like 16 Kirks if you wanted to. Hell, just get Q to snap Kirk in.

Shatner (along with the Reeves-Stevenses) already did it best/as good as it's gonna get in The Return. I've always said, that (along with a smattering
of the DS9 novel Unity) would have made a great next film. Since the Borg were in The Return, throw Janeway and Voyager in there as well - THAT would have been
some movie.

(said in a "KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN" style) (check the reflections in their eyes; it's the Starfleet Delta) Kirk:
Spock (frikkin amazing)
Uhura:
Nero (now that's a bad ass Romulan)
Now, put 'em all together and you get:
