Everyone is different and everyone writes to their strengths. I have a LOT of faith in Luceno.

Nah, I'll take her at her word. I'm just glad that no author is being rushed by DR in this situation. Especially Stover and Luceno, because they have to ability to produce two really good novels.

Somebody assassinating OR deposing Natasi Daala. 9. No Mandalorians. I know some people love them dearly, but we don't need them here. 8. Allana being awesome. 7. Lots of Lucenopedia listings and references. I want to know all TWELVE members of the Jedi Council, I want him to tell us a grand list of EVERY SURVIVING YJKer and what they're doing. Raynar? Redeemed Tahiri? MIA Zekk? Lowbacca? Tesar? QM Tenel Ka? Even if these people don't appear, I want offhand references and I want them NOW. Offhand references to Horns, Antilleses, Niathals, girlfriends of Kyp Durron, and Fels are also extremely welcome. And appreciated. Especially since this is two years later. The Lucenopedia may irritate and vex some people; I think it is grand and awesome. 6. A decent page count. At LEAST 350 pages otherwise it actually ISN'T worth the hardcover-class price I pay, in monetary terms at least. 5. Reflection on Jacen. Thoughts on Jacen. References to Jacen. Musings on Jacen. Lots. Please. 4. More White Eyes and his identity. I pray for a Cronal reveal, but even if he is a character we've never met before, we need a name. And a diabolical plan. 3. Lando Calrissian. Tendra Calrissian. Baby Calrissian. Now. Lots of them. Now. I want to learn the gender and name of that baby (although s/he would be a toddler now!!) and perhaps some inkling of a personality there too. Plus, Lando humour. 2. The actual history of the Millennium Falcon. Not like Death Star where they promised us a history of the thing and that was all rendered in one chapter and the rest was about some boring OCs having Random Adventures. I'd like a comprehensive backstory on the ship, tracing its origins to right up until it landed in Han's possession. Surprise us. Make it interesting. 1. Solid, outstanding even, characterisation for all the mains. Han, Leia, Luke, Jaina, Ben and Allana, Threepio and Artoo. Give them ALL something to do, even if the main thrust of this story is about the history of the MF. We know what the elder Solos and Allana will be doing. We have some idea of what Luke is doing. But I'd also like something for Jaina, Ben, Threepio and Artoo to do. I'd actually quite enjoy seeing Jaina go off with the droids for some random thing, or even Ben. I kind of hope Ben and Jaina are included with Luke's plot; I think that would work out well for all concerned. And as a bonus round, I'd just love seeing Han and Leia as grandparents. Imagine that scene in Fury, but spread out to an entire novel. Oh, what fun we'd have with those dynamics. I also think it fair if I ask for Aunty Jaina and Great-uncle Luke, because we have not seen this as yet. I think all the things I've asked for above are fair and just. I may not SEE a Daala assassination in Millennium Falcon, but I in all seriousness expect to see everything else on my list. If by some quirk these things do not happen I'm sure it won't be an Invincible-class disaster, but my faith does need some restoration here.

This reminds me, I was wondering what you think of Shadowspawn having a face, instead of the Blackhole-like illusion. I would like to see them be related, at the least. 2. The actual history of the Millennium Falcon. I'd like a comprehensive backstory on the ship, tracing its origins to right up until it landed in Han's possession. Surprise us. Make it interesting. As I would, but I haven't read any indication beyond the title that such would be the case. If you have- I've missed it, and would appreciate if you'd show me where it was. Suddenly Jacen could see his challenge, and the prospect terrified him. He would have to kill those he most loved. He would have to kill Tenel Ka and his precious daughter, his Allana. The fact that even the thought of it was tearing out his heart was the terrible proof that it had to be so. And still he could hardly bear think it. The Yuuzhan Vong thought they knew all there was to know about inflicting pain, but they were beginners compared to this. How could he even think it? Jacen put his right hand to his face and touched it, as if it weren't his own. He felt as if he were standing over by the far wall, watching himself die by degrees. Is it me? Is it really my burden? Yes, Grandfather. It's me. I love Luceno's ability to do this, especially as it never really feels forced - like his epilogue scenes to TUF (I still hate that all those great scenes and especially the finale were missed from the audio book). And a diabolical plan Not sure on this. I'd be happy if they used the One Sith (in a way that makes them look beaten so that they can exist in secret until Legacy), but also happy if they don't. I don't want Del Ray to use the One Sith every time they want a Sith/dark villain in the next 90 year time period! LOTF had enough lazy writing (Vergere retcon, Tahiri's sudden character transformation with no build up, etc), I don't want Del Ray using Legacy's back story as a crutch for loads more Sith stories. Lando was my favorite character during his brief LOTF appearance. He was perfectly in character and I loved learning that he was to become a father. I really wished we'd got more from this in Invincible. The birth of Lando's child would have been a nice happy counter point to the death of Caedus. The actual history of the Millennium Falcon. This is what the novel is supposed to be about, it can't be treated as a side plot. Solid, outstanding even, characterisation for all the mains. Jaina and Ben helping Luke would be good for both their characters. As Luke learns why Jacen became Caedus Ben would come to understand why his mother was killed and it could also help Jaina come to terms with what she has done (or given she never even attempted to redeem him, it could harm her further, push her away from the Jedi and towards the Jag and the Imperials, but I think that's the more unlikely option). Zekk needs to be resolved. Either dead or back alive with the Jedi. Hopefully before the novel starts. I don't want another YJK character to be MIA and come back as the villain. I just need a foreshadowing of a Jacen return in Millenium Falcon. That would be enough for me. Oh, yes, and Allana must have a large role too. I'd love it if Luke's search led to this. Heck if it led to the revelation of DN/LOTF Jacen/Caedus being a clone then even better. I know it screws up Allana's paternity, but if it took that to get the true Jacen back then I'm willing to pay the price.

Pushing the book MF up two months is a judgment call, they are getting antsy and can't allow themselves to lose anymore fans. That is why they are putting this book out in October. A lot of hope is riding on this book. If it fails like the whole LOTF did, then I won't be surprise to see this as the beginning of a down fall for the Star Wars EU. They screwed the pooch on the LOTF series. Invincible was just absolutely awful, had no development, was too short, too much in cost, and was just vague. I know people in fundamental English who could have written and more interesting then that crap. To think I was a Troy Denning fan just makes me sick to my stomach. This story better be good.

That is a gaping plot point right now, although I can understand where you're coming from if you're talking about hoping this book approaches its content in a "digesting the fallout" fashion. The only way I'd be pleased without Mandalorians is if there's an announcement that there's going to be a series of books based on the Mandalorians following the events of Invincible. Not a big multi-author arc or anything, just one (or perhaps two) authors. Think of it as a spiritual successor to the X-Wing books. Could even lead up with the Mandalorians crusading across the galaxy again, as in the KOTOR era. They give us that, and I'll let the absence of Mandos slide. You're mistaken. The reason that MF was pushed up was because Luceno was early with his manuscript for the book, and Stover was late with his. Hence the change in dates. We should have a board called "Waaaaah" and just let everyone who hates on certain Star Wars books and authors without any real depth or analysis post there. It is dumb and naive to not think this is a last ditch effort to restore faith in the EU. If you want to see some scathing negative reviews, go read amazon, starwars.com, and theforce.net. But I would be lying if I did not also think they also wanted to get this book out early. But I don't think that matters anymore. what matters is the content and we won't know that until the book is released. i think I will also say that I don't want to read about the one sith. I thought it was a huge mistake to bring it up in legacy and then never have it in the plot again. If Luceno can set up future stories by mentioning the one sith then that is fine. I just feel if that is touched upon then they will have to devote page time to white eyes and company and MF hs so many other plot fillers that need to be addressed that I believe that can wait until the next book.

A scene like this: At the end of the novel, after Han finds out whatever he does about the Falcon, he goes to tell Lando. Han gets kind of sad about Jacen and Anakin, sp Lando quickly gets himself drunk, then proceeds to get Han drunk, and Wedge, Tycho and Talon Karrde who had all been there visiting Toddler Calrissian, also get sloshed. I'd read it for that alone. I also propose that for whatever reason, the MF is given a makeover. Not too much, but just something... new.
