Old and famous story (and true); Michael Moorcock once wrote a novel in 36 hours to cover a Harrods bill that was due the next monday.
Karen did RC:HC in six weeks, iirc, and has done books in even shorter time frames. Of course, she writes 16 hours a day when she's on a roll. Everyone is
different and everyone writes to their strengths.
