Sacrifice was a big part of this series & Jacen pondered over & over again the nature of his sacrifice. With the ending & Jaina's reflection that Jacen had succeeded in bringing about peace my thought was that Jacen became the sacrifice. Not just his life, but who he was, the love others had for him, his memory, the love of his life & his daughter; he sacrificed everything even his light.
And perhaps Vergere saw this. Perhaps she alone knew Jacen was the one person capable of making that depth of sacrifice. She prepared him & made it possible knowing that Lumiya would finish the task, & if Lumiya's agenda was different it wouldn't matter anyway because Jacen was who he was.
I'm probably reading too much into the intent of the authors & editors, but wouldn't that be a wonderful way to finish the whole retcon. Lift Jacen & Vergere up beyond being mere sith. They certainly both deserve it.
Anyway, that's how I'm going to choose to see it.

...I have felt since betrayal that Jacen
liked self fulfilling prophecies. That is why I never took any of his visions seriously.

I have been to Fanuel Hall, I'll have you know.
