TheUnseen nailed it in the description of Caedus/Jacen's fate. There was no redemption. End of story.

I love that Jaina gets jealous of her Mother's ability to use sexuality as a weapon. So much so that she tries it herself in a desperate time and fails miserably, not because she isn't able physically to attract men's attention but because she just doesn't have those kinds of wiles in her. She's a warrior through and through.

Good point. I like that fact too. Jaina just doesn't know how to play the men anymore, she's so out of touch...and the commission...that's a possibility. And I still want to know whether she asked both Zekk and Jag to bunk with her.

I think Jaina is going to need someone to lean on after this tragic event of having killed her brother. Since Zekk is out of the picture, then Jag is the one available. It'll start at simple and develop from there. She'll get more and more involved in helping him root out the Remnant and get the Empire fixed up. Maybe even look for potential force users in the Remnant thus leading the the Imperial Knights.

And the whole selflessness redeeming act is a silly basis for Caedus dying as Jacen or being redeemed. If dying in a selfless act leads to redemption, then Lumiya and Vergere were both redeemed as well. Both of them gave their lives for Jacen and his destiny. Both wanted peace. Heck, even Darth Maul died for the selfless act of serving his master. Doesn't mean that he gets a free ticket to Force Heaven though. If you consider what absolute selflessness is, it's a matter of no emotion or attachment to anything. A purely selfless person is an emotionless rational robot who serves the greater good. If your death will save ten, so be it. Make sense rationally, poof, so let it be done.

One thing that bugs me is when one of the Mando commandos gets cooked alive when they attack the Moffs. There are only two dozen stormies, whose numbers are constantly dwindling, and by repeatedly shooting this guy's beskar'gam armor they are able to cook him alive. I could see the plate getting hot, but at that point I would think he would drop to the floor and out of sight, not stand there and get boiled and wait for a mercy shot. Then there's the guy who gets shot enough times in the same place that it makes a melt hole in his armor. Caedus slowly drags his lightsaber across this stuff and only leaves a deep furrow. When did a bunch of blaster bolts become more powerful than a lightsaber? Recall a lightsaber can cut through everything but like five pieces of rare materials. A blaster is just a normal laser weapon, not something known for going through everything. I mean blaster bolts ricochet around the inside of a garbage compactor and yet they can melt through beskar'gam? And don't forget the besuliike and the trakaad that got wasted by a few mines. I got the impression that a besuliike could take a turbolaser bolt and survive, it would die on the second one, but still it could take one. The trakaad was a tank, this thing should have been able to plow through.

Me thinks Denning doesn't like Mandalorians or just doesn't understand what beskar'gam was built up to be.
