I am tempted to ask him some stuff but like you said patch..this is just a sad attempt at damage control. The other problem I have with this is that if he
gives us fillers that should have been in the book, then that would be upsetting as they damn well know that it was incomplete. Of course I will still hold
complete judgement until I read what he says...

You know, I'm not quite so certain this is an attempt at damage control. If anything, I think it's meant to placate the hardcore fans who aren't
pleased with the book and to let them get some sight into what he was thinking when he wrote the story. I think we'd have to wait and see which questions
he chooses to answer and how he answers before we rush to calling this damage control. I like that he's noticed the "strong reactions" and wants
to give fans a taste of his thought process, and if anything, it could be at least a learning experience.
I'll keep an eye on the thread, I'm curious as to what he has to say.

I asked him a question, and I complemented him on the book before the people from NJOE strike...

boba-you could be absolutely right. But my point was that the book was deliberately left open to interpretation and deliberately written as a "filler
without the nitty gritty emotion" to it. That and the other random things that just popped in.
Again, though, I will wait to see what he says. I can't speak for the man. But regardless of what he says, it still doesn't change the outcome of the book or the fact that DR is going to try and fix things with an e-book and releasing of statements... |

I think damage control is exactly what DR & LFL are doing. They screwed up & it began with the whole premise of this series. It was never necessary to
do this to Jacen, but if they were going to do it, why didn't they do it with the class they gave Chewie & Anakin?

Well that was just ridiculous. You don't threaten an author no matter how bad you think a book is. This is definitely more calm. More so I think because
all of us are just scratching our heads wondering what the heck happened...

No. I enjoyed it a lot. One of my favorites. But I personally don't think that even if I did hate the book, it is not an excuse to personally attack the
author for a work of fiction.

Yes Denning did make personal writing style decisions but DR is just as much to blame. But that also doesn't mean that people should persoanlly attack him.
Yes they can be frustrated at what he wrote (which I know I am!) but certain comments need not be said...

Seriously though, while this is most likely damage control and all that, I will keep an eye on the thread to see what he says. Many of us disliked the book for various reasons but Denning deserves a chance to explain some of the decisions he made. Just please god, don't give the same excuse Sue gave. |

I think some of Sue's posts were damage control- but a lot seemed to be to actually be the truth and what simply happened.

and that's cool. I know the entire star wars fan base does not dislike Invincible. It's only natural. But the fishy comments from Sue confirm that even they realize something went wrong. That and Denning's Q and A. |

True. I agree that they realized many people were upset with INvincible. I don't see how though, it was so good.
