Another one from the early NJO days, this one took forever to write and--since I like to fit all my stories into continuity--had a number of events in the latter portion of the story to fix problems with the earlier parts. Some of the earlier parts got rewritten as well--see if you can spot what was rewritten, what wasn't, and how much of the ending was just an attempt to get the damn story finished after a few years in the making!

This one was written before we knew Lah's "Shaming" was a ploy, and it was intended to be the intro to a longer Lah-focused story that never got off the ground. I've been doing a lot of work lately involving computers that run on open source software. Linux operating systems and the like. Unlike Windows or Mac OSX, all Linux software is absolutely free of charge. there is a huge community of developers out there who write programs to be distributed under the Open GL license. The Open GL License specifically states that the software if free to use or redistribute as you see fit.
