Most Emotional Movie Moment

I have a question for all of you. What do you think was the most emotional moment in all six films? For me, I think it has to be the execution of Order 66. You get a bunch of Jedi deaths, and the music was extremely err... sad and depressing. What about you?

Yes, I intend to try and persuade Lucas in 20 years to rerelease Star Wars (I'm sure there will a new format anyway). For one thing, I plan to be in a position to do so (I will certainly not idle away the rest of my life). Anyway, what would you try to get in the finalized definitive movies? As far as I'm concerned:

Gilad Pellaeon: One scene in RotJ. That's all I ask. Maybe the call to surrender, maybe just a scene aboard the Chimaera in which he watches miserably...

As usual, I can't find the post I want to respond to. I was just watching Return of the Jedi, and when I couldn't find Mara, I took to the internets to find out if/when/where. I found a mention of her in the Special Edition that was later deleted from Wookieepedia (Google never got the memo) and a lot of people on message boards asking about her. Might be spelled wrong I dont know. I also dont know who the heck this is. Its annoying. I have heard you can see some jedi in the background in episode 1 and that is supposidly him. I have also heard that Duko is him. If Duko was Sypho Dyas how come the masters (Yoda and Mace) said that he was dead while also knowing that Duko wasent. If he is that random jedi in the backround in episode 1 what was his connection to Palpy? Was he also a sith? Was order 66 programed into the clones at...

Emporer's plans concerning Luke

With the retconning of the prequel trilogy to the rule of two - what do you think becomes the reasoning that the Emporer is so quick to agree with Vader in the Empire Strikes Back to 'turn' young Skywalker.

Obviously, the Emporer knows Luke will have an effect on his apprentice (Vader) - does he truly not suspect that it might not turn Vader back?

Or does he think the risk worth it, because Vader has been found lacking in some way (perhaps he's never tried to usurp his master)...

*The symbolism in the Yoda/Sidious fight. This isn't just the Grand Master V the Emperor, it's Good V Evil at its most basic and primal levels. The symbolism of having it take place in the Senate Rotunda (the heart of democracy) is also poignant, especially when you have Sidious gleefully tearing the chamber apart and Yoda trying forlornly to stop him.

*The entire closing montage of Episode 3. The opposing life/death/rebirth...

I own every Star Wars movie on DVD and watch them from time to time because most television is such drivel. You have to admit that there is at least one scene in each of the six movies that makes you cringe. A one liner or just a moment that you just wish would come and go when the movie gets up to it.

For me the worst is in EpisodeII: AOC when Artoo is pulling Threepio's head across the ground in the collosium on Geonosis and Threepio says, "This is such a drag!" (*gag*)....

Darth Sidious's Influence

So I'm here to change that. It's actually my second favorite film in the series (after Empire), yes -gasp- before A New Hope.

I've gotten riled up because I recently read yet another somewhat negative review of RotJ - and why? You can all guess. Say it with me.

Come ON. The Ewoks are in what - about 1/4 of the total running time of the movie. Sure it's interspersed in the last 1/2 of the film - but between the Jabba sequence, return to Dagobah, the Rebel planning,...

Falcon's sensor/comm dish in ROTJ

Question...

what's the purpose of the dish on the Falcon? The one that got knocked off when flying into the death star. Is it a comm relay or a sensor dish? I always get them messed up, but I thought it was the comm dish.

If so... how was Lando able to communicate with Wedge to tell him to take the north tower when they got inside the central chamber?
This is a must-watch. Funny as hell. It's Vader's scenes from ANH, but they've spliced in dialogue from James Earl Jones' other movies.

Mace Windu vs. Palpatine

this is a strong debate between my friends and me: had anakin not interfered, who would have won the duel, palpatine or mace? obviously, palpatine lost his lightsaber out the window and was driven to a corner, but did he let that happen because he sensed anakin coming? did he "lose" on purpose? or did mace legitimately beat him?

Let's imagine something for a minute - with all the uneasy reception of the prequels, as prequels, but what if the movies had been released in 1-6 order?

Put aside technilogical issues for right now - let's just imagine that the films, as they are right now, were released in sequential order.

How would the films be received? Would they have caught on quite as well if it was the story of Vader, rather than the story of Luke followed by some backstory? How might people latch...
