A question for anyone

As some of you know my computer crashed Wednesday and I'm running on an old HP model that uses XP. I need a new internet browser because the one I have now sucks, I'm pretty sure it's IE 6. So what is the best that I can get for Windows XP? Does Firefox 3 work for it? Is Google Chrome worth it? Should I even bother with IE 8? Any help would be super

I recently bought a NES, the original Nintendo system, at a garage sale. To my surprise we got it working fairly quickly and have 2 working (Mario Bros. and Karate Kid) games and one non-working one (Zelda). The old games are fun, simple, and cheap, though hard to find. I've been looking around for some old SW games but I'm short of cash so I haven't bought any.

Does anyone else play these old-school games? I mean, anything older than GameCube?

Hey.

So on Wednesday night, I visited YouTube and watched some videos and everything is cool.

Then I visit Thursday night, having NOT CHANGED ANY functions, applications, processes, programs or anything at all on my computer. But I can';t watch any YouTube videos. Why? I don't know why, but I do get this stooooopid message:

So... now that I'm in my own place and have the room to do it, I'm really tempted to buy a console. But I don't know where to start.

Here's what I know..

-I don't want a Wii. The Wiimote is stupid and I'm terrified that I"ll let it fly and break my TV like so many YouTube videos. Plus, I'm grounded in the idea of a controller.

-The games I really want to play are Mario based - which I know is contradictory to the above; I think...

iphone / ipod touch gaming

I thought I'd throw this out there and see who else is gaming on an iphone or ipod touch. I've got a 'touch' and just love it. It's become my primary gaming device, and I've also found my taste in games has changed (around when I became addicted to puzzle quest). My top game is probably Aurora Feint: The Arena, but Rolando, Fieldrunners, Galcon, Blue Defense, and I'm sure a few more I'm forgetting are great too. And just yesterday, Mafia Wars (a facebook game)...

I suck at Halo. Always have. I love the story, though, and I'd love to be able to play the game through on something more challenging than "OMG, not in the face!" Also, it'd be really nice to be able to play online without getting my corpse squatted on in the first 45 seconds. I know some of you play together a lot. Do you think you have the patience to teach me skills that don't involve getting stuck in a corner and meleeing a wall?

Does anybody here play Left 4 Dead on the X-Box 360? Even though I have over a dozen other titles, my 360 has pretty much become a dedicated zombie horde blasting machine. I'd love to play with you guys instead of the yammering 12 yearolds that Live usually serves up. Anyone playing Fallout 3? Bought it a couple of days ago, haven't been so addicted to a game since blasting through Zelda as a kid. I hated Oblivion so I was a bit skeptical coming in, turned out awesome though. Great storyline, great atmosphere, and it's got Liam Neeson!
