Exploring the Possibilites of an NJOE Roleplaying Game

Zinnos, MizzeeOH, Skuldren, anakinsoloII and myself have been trying to put together a proposal for Acky for an NJOE Roleplaying forum. The first thing we're working on figuring out is what era to set the Roleplay in. We've come up with a number of suggestions which I will list here.

1. Knights of the Old Republic
2. Old Republic (Pre-Phantom Menace)
3. Clone Wars
4. Dark Times (Between RotS and ANH)
5. Galactic Civil War...

At the recomendation of MNA I am starting a forum here to ask where Kirr is in the Char Enteries forum. I know I have a 1 par entry that was posted on 2/7/08 that still is unreviewed, as well as any of the other char entries that I have seem. So Kirr where are you buddy?

Fan Fiction Contest

The Prize: A pre-ordered copy of Millenium Falcon- hopefully from a site that delivers on time.
The Rules:
Between the end of the Invincible spoiler ban and the release of Millenium Falcon, post a fan fiction on NJOE. It must start at some point shortly before the ending to Invincible, and cover at least three ambiguities and/or plot-holes from Legacy of the Force. Over 1000 words; no MF spoilers. If there is enough interest, perhaps a <1000 word category will be added....

Just an FYI - there seems to have been some spamming by an outside source in the Expanded Universe forum. Short of the top topic - the next 6-8 of them have recent spam messages by sell777.

How to keep the forums alive until Millennium Falcon?

Between every book release, we always see a large drop off of posting. Between series it's even bigger. We're looking at something like 7 months until the next book. That could be murder for the forums. (Great for the site, to play catch up!) So how do we keep them active and alive in the drought?

What do *you* want to see added to the forums to help keep your interest and keep you posting?

Forum Failure to Load

I'm just curious if anyone else has been having a similar problems.

Every so often (it happened earlier today and yesterday) I could view the forum directory but any attempt to open a "sub-forum" (Like Errant Venture) results in a "error" page. I'm not quite sure how to describe it but it is the page you get when you try to open a browser without connecting to the internet first. I ran a diagnostic and it said that everything should be operating normally...

So here's the deal. I'm working with the group of users that act as the "NJOE Advisory Council" to start developing some rather drastic changes to the back-end inner workings of NJOE in regards to how the encyclopediadic content is managed, written, and posted.

This is going to be a pretty big revision, some of the biggest changes to ever affect the site and is going to take some time to implement - we'll have to continue to be a little behind in our content...

Double Ranked Users

I'm still discovering things, but amid my complaints in the other thread, I thought it fair to offset things by listing that which are cool and useful from Yuku.

-Warnings. Rather than MNA and I just saying "hey, cool it," we now have the ability to warn you through the board software - if you accumulate three warnings within a 2-week period you get an automatic one-week ban. I call this pretty cool. It makes me want to get more trouble-makers to show up.

So we have a new look. Wondering if the twelve bucks i gave EZ board a few weeks ago was a waste or is this still the same entitiy in a way? This is going to take some getting used to but it looks like there is a lot more functionality to the board.

Is the background in the Revelation Spoilers forum really peach? Or is my computer monitor just funky?

I don't have an opinion yet, and I'm not going to for a while, until I've read Revelation. Because it's going to take a couple dozen repeated views for me to decide what I think.

But I did notice that sections bordering the banner, which would make the parallelogram banner a rectangle, were still green. So there's that, along with a few other contrast issues.
